Post if you got your refund here!

How long before the money was actually back in your account ?

Is the version on instant gaming exactly the same version from Microsoft Store for PC ?

My refund was declined because I’ve hit the limit on refund requests apparently. This is the only refund I have ever requested! Even the refund process is broken!

Refunded immediately.

Only time Ive requested a refund in my entire gaming history with Xbox and MS. The whole MSFS 2024 experience has been a little souring and underwhelming. Only 2 of my aircraft from 2020 transfered over. No sign of my AN 225 or Vulcan for starters.

If Im going to try this again, I’ll be doing it from Game Pass.

As a matter of interest, after I had a unresolvable ā€˜red man’ bug, I did request a refund* which was rejected. Microsoft are making stuff up here, claiming I had already used up my ā€˜refund’ quota. My last (and only) past refund (pre-order cancellation to be fair) was 6 years ago. I read someone else had been denied incorrectly on this basis also.

*A workaround to the ā€˜red man’ issue has now come to light , so I’m sticking to the sim, but I can’t say I appreciate Microsoft support lying to me.

Why post it here though? Who cares whether you chose to refund or not? I don’t understand why people with such negative outlooks chose to buy aviators edition and prem deluxe, when you should’ve gone for gamepass, knowing how bumpy and frustrating it can get at launch.

We had the same kind of drama going with 2020 at launch, you’d think after 4 years people learned something. I pre-purchased this fully expecting it to get a bit chaotic and potentially even frustrating, which it was only the first day for me. I get that others can’t fly and don’t have a working sim so to speak, and that’s tragic and needs to be addressed, analyzed and fixed, but coming here ā€œwanting to hurtā€ microsoft is laughable and infantile behavior, I’m sorry. Just sit back, fly 2020 and slowly see things return to normal as the team addresses it, and if you don’t want that just get your refund and close the door for good. I could be inserting the airport meme here.

Your lack of understanding is puzzling and disappointing.

This has been the worst software product launch (by a long way) that I’ve experienced in 35 years. It is not a fault for people to order products in good faith. Reaching a point of despair after 4 days is not having an unreasonable ā€˜negative outlook’. I’ve decided to stick with it it, but I can 100% empathise with those who have decided not to.

Got my refund within less than a minute.

Aviator Refund requested and inmediately approved due to missing content. I am Out! back to the half baked msfs 2020, Good Luck !

So you’re saying that we should have expected this to be a smooth launch? Come on now. To me it’s puzzling and disappointing that nobody seems to have learned a thing and didn’t go with the game pass option at launch, especially considering the last four years. Microsoft is absolutely to blame for this disaster, period, and it’s not okay to pull that stunt, but people should have known better and adjusted their expectations for launch day as well.

It’s bad, yes, but it’s also uncharted territory what they’re doing, there has been worse, especially in the gaming industry. Not making any apologies for them though, they should have planned and tested this way more, especially with the way the sim is designed. No excuses. I didn’t mean to attack you personally, but it’s hard to fathom that many people believed this was going to be a smooth launch. I can’t for the life of me understand that. The next few months are going to be full of regular fixes and improvements. I think it’s going to be a while before everything is ironed out for everybody.

I purchased and got a refund. For multiple reasons not just the delightful server issues. The game itself is unfinished, there is clearly no quality control on the aircraft they have included in the sim. Each one I tried has glaring systems issues (like the wrong avionics). Model or animation issues, flight model inaccuracies.
It’s fair to say that it appears there was minimal testing other than seeing that aircraft were present in the sim. I’d rather wait for some updates and eventually purchase the standard edition when it is usable.

To be fair, there’s quite a difference between a smooth launch and the dumpster fire we’ve experienced. I expect and accept some bugs during launches, even server load on Day One, but this is Day Four.

I can’t elaborate because of forum rules, but you got good chances over at a social media giant owned by a man with an asian wife. Keyword: marketplace.

Yes and I’m playing since day two and it’s working for me, so obviously experiences differ, and that’s exactly the frustrating thing. I wish nothing more for you than you being able to use the sim as well, and I certainly understand your anger. It’s 100% justified.

I’m honest, I didn’t know you could be refund after playing. Cool for you. I stay on 24 and the performance is much better than 20 and everything else too, with my configuration.

Why is it down to you say you cant have a refund. I got a refund because the product didnt work. We have every right to get a refund like for any other product. Its called consumer rights.

Already asked a refund in STEAM account… see what happens…

…see you soon !! in two o three years i’ll come back to read posts to value a new purchase .

Thank Asobo.

Thank Microsoft marketing. In big companies marketing has sway in all sorts of things. Honest to god, I saw one salesman try to get a coworker fired because she wouldn’t lie about a product’s capabilities to a client so he could then put pressure on R&D to develop the capability. Ultimately she wasn’t fired but neither was he. Since then I’ve watched as marketing chased bonuses and forced launches before products were ready.

There are realities in business and products need to be launched for companies to survive. But the sales/marketing people I’ve run across are some of the most wretched creatures and force a lot of errors while upper management sees them as keeping R&D and production in line.

I grew to hate them.

Got a refund on steam. Might buy it again but it’ll take more than solving the servers. Most airplanes are worse off than in 2020.

Keep going, the servers are getting good
