As requested also here my recent setup.
It is amazing how much depth such a simple box adds to the cockpit view.
Today finished making a “box” around the screen. This box adds a lot more depth, little like VR, because it focuses your view and gives the feeling you are IN the cockpit and not looking AT the cockpit. Excellent 
The process is simple and very few costs. Just foam boards which are easy to cut and handle.
Painted them in “Airbus” blue 
The led strip inside can be adjusted: white in daytime, more yellow orange in night flights and the intensity is also adjustable. This led strip adds also an enormous extra feeling of reality.
There is no worry about the heat of the monitor since the back of the box is open. The monitor stands free. It is just two side panels with a “roof”. This roof just touches the top of the monitor.
