A friend of mine wasn’t sure how heavy the screen should be, so he skipped the screen entirely and welded thick steel plates over the windows. No locust issues since then - highly recommended.
Don’t fly too close to the ground. That’s where the locusts are waiting.

Home-Built DA62 Cockpit for MSFS 2024
I’m currently building a home cockpit based on the Diamond DA62X for MSFS 2024. It includes custom-made panels, physical G1000 controls, an audio panel, switches, encoders, standby instruments and a small ESP32-driven magnetic compass.
A Samsung S8 is used as one of the displays, while several networked ESP32 modules communicate with a custom cockpit broker. I’ve also created a session launcher that starts the hardware, broker, displays and MSFS, and automatically loads a saved flight.
It’s still a work in progress, but it is steadily becoming a fully usable DA62 cockpit. I’ll be happy to share more pictures and technical details if anyone is interested!

A Virpil or Moza FFB would see you good.
Yeah same as @Baracus250 the cockpit itself is looking real nice, great job. However the control stick and pedals let it down. A nice Virpil with an extension and perhaps a set of TRP’s should get you closer to the real thing.

I find it interesting too. Maybe a separate topic would be a good idea — something like “Interesting Cockpit Finds” or “Cockpits Around the World” — where people can share unusual or impressive setups they come across.
That way this thread can stay focused on home cockpits, while people who enjoy seeing other interesting cockpit setups have somewhere to post them too. Seems like a better solution than discouraging people from sharing something others may enjoy.
