Is this a sim or a real aircraft??? WOW!

It is my Home Cockpit based on Opencockpits hardware modules and my own developed PMDG 737 interface.

Very nicely done and VERY REALISTIC, CONGRATS!!!

I play on xbox series x. Unfortunately no Feedback from the sim for an lcd…
I print form printables com the number: 1425056 and modify the code from github / touchgadget / usb_keyboard_button_box_pico.
The only code change I did: you can assign more than one key to a button or the encoder.

github slash shadowframe search for msfs … no links in forum …

Hello, I’m starting to work on A320 panels with 15" screens.I took a screenshot of the PFD and ND turned off and integrated the panels into it. I am very satisfied with the result. The ECAMs will be integrated in the same way, the second screen will be delivered tomorrow. Everything will probably be integrated into a wooden half-cockpit, on a smaller scale.

Just upgraded from the Saiteks to the Realsimgear G1000s (flying T315; GDM-> BTV, with this shot taken ~2.0 NM south of JAMMA at 12k) within the golden hour. the panels are good, with the only caveat being that they don’t have the ability to dim the screens.

Edit: the only active VATSIM radio traffic was on BDL ground at the time of the flight

Well here it is. My Cessna G1000 cockpit. Made from www.flightsimdiy.com plans and files. The working backlight and GMA indicator lights really enchanted the feel. Yoke is a FFB from JCLoves design. Yoke handle is a cadet yoke from Thingiverse with the electronics from an old Saitek yoke inside. The pedals are Thrustmaster. The center console is all my design and printed. Switch panel is from a Thingiverse file that I heavily modified. It has 3 Arduino 2560 and two Arduino micro controllers. The standby gauges are Air Manager running on a small lcd. I use POM to bring the PFD and MFD down. I use Mobiflight, Air Manager, Voice Attack and Popout manager. I installed a self made fan assembly on the PC to keep the RTX from getting to hot.

Question: do the RealSimGear G1000 units require special client software or do they appear to Windows as regular game controllers that can be used in Spad.neXt etc?

I’m going to be in the market for new units later this year and I was eyeing Aviatek, but their stuff requires their software be installed and then you have to rely on them updating it in a timely manner for new sim versions or breaking changes. The only units I know for sure don’t do this are Emuteq but those are what I have now and what I intend to replace (because they’re old and busted, and don’t visually look as good as RSG or Aviatek).

Edit: found the docs, you have to use their software. Very disappointing.

The software is lightweight (almost like any vatsim client). At the current point, the PFD and MFD run on a per-session basis (i.e. you have to pop out the screens then drag them over)

Pop Out Panel Manager would automate that for you.

It’s less about the software itself and more about the fact that RealSimGear could (in theory) stop making the G1000 and stop updating the software at any time. Also, if they are slow to update against breaking changes in the sim, you can end up unable to use your kit until they fix it, since you can’t delay sim updates. Small software development teams can be highly responsive, or they can be very slow because they have moved on to another focus. Trust me, I’ve run plenty of them

Put it another way - my Emuteq units are 8 years old and I can still use them without needing Emuteq to be in business (although they are) or updating software, and I prefer it that way.

Maybe time to consider making my own G1000 bezels… I have Simionic bezels from my brief flirtation with that system and I could probably take those apart and make a new logic board for them to use them as a USB HID device. That would be a project for me!

Awesome job!. Thanks for the Kudo’s.

Have you thought of DIY your G1000. With the pre-populated PCBs and 3D printing services it’s much easy than it use to be. Www.flightsimdiy.com and www.mobitlight.com are great to work with

Why do you have the view so low down on the main monitor? You don’t need to see the instruments anymore since you have air manager set up below it. You could have a more realistic view and the not the view of a 5 year old who can’t see above the glare shield

If you notice the wood mount for the main monitor, I raised it 4". I’m pretty tall, I see right over the top of the smaller monitor.
