Problem with Logitech Software / Logitech Mouse G502 Hero Lightspeed

Hi,

I’ve been having problems with Logitech software and my mouse for some time.

I currently have Logitech G-Hub installed and I also have a Logitech mouse and keyboard.

The keyboard is a Logitech G915 Wireless, but there are no problems with that.

My problem is the Logitech G502 Hero Lightspeed.

If I leave the mouse standing for a while, it goes into power saving mode and switches off the RGB.

If I pick up the mouse again, I get a stutter in MSFS, sometimes lasting 3-4 seconds.

Only when the RGB of the mouse turns on does the jerking stop.

Of course I also deactivated RGB and all possible power saving modes, but nothing helped. Even though the RGB is off and the mouse stands for about 10 minutes, and I activate it again, there are problems.

In Fenix the problem becomes very severe.

I even had the problem on two flights that my entire flight plan was gone…

I have no idea why this happens, but it has already happened twice, when I picked up the mouse, there were violent jerks… My TCA Thrust also did crazy things and the flight plan went away.

I replaced the G502 with a Steelseries mouse in the last few days and have no problems.

The problem is definitely G502.

I’ve been wanting to replace the mouse with a Logitech G502x for a while now, but I’m wondering if I’ll run into problems again.

Does anyone here have Logitech software and can tell me something?#

Thanks

Maybe your issue is similar to that report ?:

Yes, exactly the same error…

In PMDG I could still live with it… But in Fenix it ruined my flights twice.

It’s even so violent that Logitech software deletes my flight plan from Fenix… I have no idea how that happens. But as soon as I move the mouse to power saving mode in Fenix, my plane goes completely crazy.

If you have a similar option with that Logitech mouse could you try that recommendation ?:

I just bought a new Logitech Wireless Pro and am having the exact same problems. Did anyone find a fix for this? It is very frustrating.

Have you checked the possible fix that comes in the link I posted above ?

Reducing it from 1000 to 500 didn’t fix the problem for me.

I have now connected the mouse to MSFS with a USB cable and there are no problems.

I almost wanted to buy the successor Logitech G502x, but from what I read, the problem also exists with the G502x.

Some solution for me with cable, since it’s only a problem in MSFS, I can live with it.

I am just loading up the sim now to check. Stby.

It kind of defeats the purpose of buying a wireless mouse though right, if you have to connect it with a cable after all.

Okay I tried it with the fix that worked for you, but it didn’t work for me either.
I think I will send the mouse back and get a refund, it was not cheap!
My old wireless mouse worked well with MSFS so I will go back to that.
Shame really.

yes in that case a logitech mouse for msfs is pretty much a fail. Of course a cable isn’t a solution, but I’ve had my mouse for 4 years and can live with it. Of course it would be frustrating if you buy an expensive mouse and have to use a cable. I have no idea what Logitech did badly here… because there are no problems with other wireless mice if they don’t come from Logitech.

I have the exact same problem with my Logitech Pro Wireless Mouse!
Thats so f… annoying it really ruins the flight experience, especially while flying the Fenix!

Ive been having the exact same issue and have the same setup keyboard + mouse. Annoying with the Fenix especially. When i move my mouse after not using for a while the Fenix will have one throttle randomly jump into reverse thrust and the ATHR and AP1 will then switch off! Its caused a CTD a couple times as well.

From what ive researched with others suffering with certain BT based devices its something to do with power management in device manager for the relevant USB ports the Logitech wireless dongle is too.

However i also think it has something to do with the GHUB software and maybe some settings to do with power saving etc. Essentially it’s something to do with the mouse going to sleep and then when it wakes with movement the sim reinstates it as a USB device so thats why it does some random stuff in flight and causes problems. Im still trying to fix and if i find a solution ill update here!

Ok I’m glad I found this thread. I have a G703 with the exact same issue. The freezing doesnt bother me, but its emulating something else on a totally unrelated device, a slider axis and setting it to 50% when the mouse wakes up from sleep or turned back on from power. At first it was setting my spoilers to 50 when it woke up, super annoying mid-flight as you can imagine. After a bunch of testing, I’ve narrowed it down to only MSFS, it doesnt happen on the OS level. And it doesnt care whats bound, its just targeting the axis, so if you have spoilers, or throttles, or anything else bound to it, it’ll emulate and set it to 50%.

So what i did was move the spoiler axis off of the default MSFS controls and onto Spad. That fixed it because its not being controlled directly in MSFS. BUT… after that was fixed, it moved onto trying to control another axis on a totally different device, now it fiddles with my throttle axis. I imagine I’d have to chase every axis onto Spad before its fully fixed, and I’d rather keep my main controls on MSFS. And it doesnt matter which aircraft, this is being a problem with any aircraft I own. Absolutely no winning. This is something I’ve noticed as recent as May too, so it might be an SU problem.

Not completely the same thing happening my side (thankfully because that sounds awful). However I have the G502 Lightspeed and the G915 Lightspeed. My K&B will suddenly stop working completely on MSFS, its almost like it loses focus or something. However, if I have the dev mode enabled I can actually use the mouse up there on that top bar. I can still use my second screen and windows like normal but MSFS completely loses K&B controls. My Thrustmaster Side Stick continues to work, as well as my Bravo Throttle Quad. Will be fine for ages, setting up, taking off, cruise but it happens so often when just establishing on an ILS weirdly - this is across multiple aircraft but I’ve found it happening all the time on the Fenix sadly.

I originally had this issue about a year ago, and it sorted itself out but unfortunately has come back in a vegenance over the last month or so. Basically writing off 9 flights out of 10 in some cases.

I’m going to give it a go with all logitech software removed and a different K&B combo (probably wired) to see if that helps. Unless I’m missing something and its something totally different.

I’ve undergone some pretty thorough investigating over the last few hours since my previous reply and come across something that is not only effecting us Microsoft Flight Simulator users.

This seems to be a wider issue which involves the Logitech LampArray Service which is pretty well hidden unless you look for it. From my findings of this service its all around how Windows controls RGB Lighting or something along those lines… anyway its pointless - yep you dont need it running for your Logitech K&B to even display your fancy colours if thats what you like let alone work.

(As you can see mine is disabled but yours would be running and starts by default on PC boot).

Now the reasoning behind Flight Sim suddenly dropping support for my K&B (and from what I’ve seen it happens on other games too) I have no clue, but the point is there is a fix for it - temporary maybe but can be made permament with a bit of work.

Whenever the issue seemed to happen in game, Event Viewer would display this item:

I have no idea what this means either but eitherway lets kill this off so Event Viewer doesn’t flag it anymore.

I took from elsewhere a powershell script that kills off the Logitech LampArray Service

Stop-Service -Name "logi_lamparray_service"
Set-Service -Name "logi_lamparray_service" -StartupType Disabled

Now I think you’d have to do this every time Windows updated and/or Logitech G Hub updated, not sure but the important thing is it’s killed off.

To do this automatically you can use the built in Task Scheduler (TS) inside Windows and run this powershell script everytime you log in (to be on the safe side). This was the first time I’ve ever touched TS and it only took me about half hour of googling to do it. However, if you’d like me to explain on then please let me know and I’ll be happy to do so - but theres loads of better YouTube videos to do this.

So I don’t know whether this fixes your freezing/controls problems but it certainly fixed my problem that i explained previously.

One thing to try…I believe that mouse can store an on-board profile. Try saving your current profile to the mouse, in the logitech software. Then disable the logitech software from loading on startup. Your mouse will work perfectly fine, since it’s running off it’s onboard profile. See if not having the logitech software running, helps…

Mate you’re a legend, I was looking everywhere for a fix for the freezing and the controls moving issue whenever my mouse reconnected and the lamparray process was the issue. Thanks a bunch
