Problems with savings most of the settings

It seems that the required folder 1250410, where some of the setting are supposed to be saved has not been created during the initial installation in steam\userdata, and file integrity check through Steam doesn’t create it, neither does clean re-install.
Any ideas on how to force Steam or MSFS to create that folder?

check that you have cloud-sync enabled for msfs in steam…

And I wonder a bit how we come now from “AppData” folder to Steams internal folders ?

Cloud saving in steam is on, and my other games use it usually with no issue. Quite frankly you cannot turn that option off, as it automatically reverts to “on” even if I change it.. at least in my steam
So cloud saves for other games work, but for some reason not for msfs. And I still cannot locate that folder 1250410
The reason I am looking for it, is the suggestion from Microsoft support asking me to delete a steam cloud save:

How to delete a Steam cloud save to fix some loading issues or reset the logbook

You may need to reset your cloud save to fix issues caused by corrupted saves or profiles.

Warning: Deleting the cloud save will wipe your logbook permanently. You will not lose the achievements already unlocked on this profile but progression towards achievements and the logbook information cannot be recovered.

  1. From your Steam Library, right-click on the Microsoft Flight Simulator icon
  2. Click on Properties
  3. Uncheck the “Keep Game saves in the cloud for Microsoft Flight Simulator” box
  4. Open (by default)

5.C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata*

  1. Find the folder corresponding to your profile and delete the folder: Steam\userdata\usernumber)*1250410*
  2. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator
  3. Follow the onboarding and launch a flight
  4. If everything works, quit Microsoft Flight Simulator then you can re-enable Steam Cloud Sync.

you should can allways disable cloud-save in steam and it is usually persistent, also in case of msfs

You can check directly in Steam what currently is remote stored, see following post:

I also mention in that post, that you can have a look into steams-log file.

If we assume you have Steam installed in default C: location, then you searched the folder here

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\XXXX\1250410
( XXXX stands for you steam userid , 1250410 is the gameid for msfs )

?

Can you find the folders for all your other games ?

Be aware, that you delete in that way in the first step only the local replica of your steam cloud settings. Therefore these FAQ mentioned “disable cloud-save first”. Then, with starting of MSFS new files should be created and if you enable “cloud save” again, then Steam ask which files you want to use ( normaly ). If you find your folder, I recommend to backup these folder before you remove it.

But this is exactly the mystery I am trying to solve… I do not have folder 1250410.. it hasn’t been created. Not with original installation, not after file integrity check and even new installation didn’t help

In case someone was wondering, I managed to make it work by manually creating 1250410\remote folders. It wasn’t a straight forward process but all seems to be working well

Thank you all for your contribution
Happy New Year and see you in the virtual sky :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:
