PS5 Marketplace 3rd-Party Availability

I’ve posted a PS5 Marketplace question in
2026-07-23 Weekly Briefing Discussion
in the hopes that MS will feel encouraged to communicate something to us.

Microsoft, your silence is beyond insolent and incompetent. Day after day, people are asking questions, and you can’t even manage to reply a single time or explain the current state of affairs. Myself and seemingly every other PS5 player feel completely screwed over—both here in the forum and among my friends in my private circle who also play on PS5. By now, I deeply regret throwing 140 euros out the window for the Premium Deluxe Edition. I’m fuming. Unreal.

I can certainly understand the frustration here. I’m running under the asumption that SU6 will be released and then more 3rd-party content will come after that. To me, it would make sense that developers are focusing on that more than other items.

I do have one question, when did the 777 get released? Tbh, I’m seeing people comment, saying that the 777 got released for a brief moment and then got removed?

That is a very reasonable assumption. I assumed the same thing about SU5.1 which was in beta for months.
Since SU5.1 was overdue, the time window between the release of SU5.1 and the SU6beta start was really short, like 2 weeks or so. So it is very difficult to interpret the situation for the marketplace: Do they hold back releases due to the betas, and the coincidence of SU6 beta releasing back to back to SU5.1 just happened to eliminate a theoretical addon release window in between? What is intentional PS5 marketplace release strategy by MS?
The best thing would really be if MS broke the silence and shared a few of their thoughts.

Released and removed on July 14th.

I totally agree, I’m certainly not happy with the communication strategy of the MSFS developers, but I can also understand why they’re resources are devoted elsewhere for the moment. I also know that SU6 is supposed to have a lot of optimization for PS5 players as well.

If I had to speculate, the reason for SU5 and SU6 being so close together is because SU5 was aligned with the PS5 launch, and now SU6 is going to enhance the PS5 version.

Dang, I didn’t even notice, lol.

SU4 released along with the launch of the PS5 version, actually.

Oh, really? My timeline is a little off then. I still think the point I made is valid though.

My fear is that this way of thinking results in no progress ever - the sim is always developing the next Sim Update, so there’s never a “good time” when there are no major changes in progress. We’ll see if any updates are shared - I hope they will be (and as a PC/Xbox user I have no skin in the game other than empathy for our new PS5 members of the community).

My thought is after SU6, resources will free up and we will see a longer period between SU6 and SU7. I’d be very, very surprised if we don’t see more communication or at least action around new 3rd-party releases after SU6.

I’m willing to bet that they ran into issues with the initial attempts to release 3rd-party content and that those issues will be resolved with SU6.

According to their most recent 2026 roadmap, they plan to release SU6 sometime in “Jul-Aug” (so at this point, definitely no earlier than August), and then SU7 sometime in October, then I think we may see a longer pause over the holiday period - maaaaybe a SU8 beta prior to that beginning, but I’m not holding my breath. Either way, I personally think there are issues well outside of Asobo’s sim update cadence which are affecting PS5 Marketplace releases, though I can’t really speculate on what they might be.

I don’t see that being realistic, unless SU7 is going to be SUPER minor and small. I’m willing to bet the roadmap might be shifting

I think @Zadma’s main point was that holding back the PS5 marketplace due to ongoing SU-development, if that is what MS is doing, might stall the marketplace indefinitely.

Yea, I just don’t agree with that assessment. I think that there were problems with PS5 3rd-party releases which required troubleshooting. I’m just hoping that troubleshooting is being resolved in SU6

PMDG products have been purchased and removed due to streaming issue.

My question is simple and warrants a reply.

Are we expecting this product to return or not? If not customers who purchased the product should be entitled to a refund.

totally agree, maybe refund related issues between ms vs sony?

You’ve actually bought it? Have you got any word from either MS or Sony regarding the incident?

Not since its been removed from the marketplace, i still have the plane in the selection of aircraft however its not usable currently

Thanks for reply, that must be very frustrating!!!
