PSA: OpenXR Toolkit mod is not expected to work with SU10 during beta phase

Great news, thank you for your reply. What exactly do you mean with “stabilizing MR framerates” if i may ask?

Forgot to mention, but there is a small update released today (it still bears 111 as the major version), and it aims at fixing an issue with MSFS2020 (not related to MR). This isn’t the bigger 112 update that will happen later this month.

We’ve worked on a few changes to improve reliability of the motion reprojection process scheduling. There was some discussion here: Motion Reprojection & Task Manager - What’s the link? - Virtual Reality (VR) / Hardware & Performance - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums. Basically changes that help the OS prioritize the asynchronous work of motion reprojection and reduced interferences from the game’s workload. This isn’t just limited to the Task Manager thing, there are a few other changes as well.

Awesome. Thank you

Hey, just wanted to ask one last thing. Is there somewhere we can read the changelog of the oxr updates? I found this, but last entry is from june. Releases · microsoft/OpenXR-MixedReality · GitHub

This is the right page, and if we ignore today’s update, the last update was in June. We have a day or two of latency on that page, so this morning’s update will go up soon.

I can give you the exclusive though, there is only a single change in 111.2208.18003, and that is fixing a stability issue at application shutdown (which would manifest itself with a crash when exiting MSFS2020, or the task lingering in the Task Manager).

Thank you

It’s the reg edit still required to get this to work in DX12 (SU10 beta that is)?

Yes it will be required until OpenXR Toolkit 1.1.5 is released.

Is this applicable to the Quest 2 with or without ASW running if using the Oculus runtime and OpenXR Toolkit w/ say, FSR?

No we are talking about WMR devices only. This is not a change to OpenXR Toolkit, we are discussing the WMR software updates.

Good news, I spent a lot of time this weekend and it looks like OpenXR Toolkit is back on track for SU10! DX12, Foveated Rendering, etc are all working now, and I have some additional bug fixes as well.

The only thing I do not have an update for is the reports of “laggy” image with FSR+DX12. I am not able to reproduce it. I think we’ve concluded to this point that only AMD users have this issue?

Including DFR for the Varjo Aero?

Yes including DFR, but that version is not released yet.

Guys, version 1.2.0 is released! Thanks Matthieu

Forgot to mention: if you had the disable_interceptor registry hack, you want to remove that. Otherwise you don’t be getting FFR.
