Purchasing aviators edition separately?

I’m soon coming to the msfs 24 party and I am going to get the prem delux version…

Question…

Im still on the fence with the aviators edition…
That impulsive purchase side of me (he almost always gets his way) wants it…
The logical savings money side (who usually works in tandem to impulsive purchase guy) is saying bargin… three aircraft would pay it off
The other logical mind (who often doesn’t get the say much) is saying…
Just get the prem delux as you’d probably struggle to fly anything other than the 707 which I want… maybe those two British helicopters and I already have to ATR and going of various reviews…
The others are quite hit and miss… especially the 707 that you want anyway…

Now that logical side has been researching and I cant find…

Can I pay for that 70 odd difference for the aviators pack as a separate purchase at a later date, when more money is available??
If not…
Anyone in the know or has a fair idea, if it isnt an option now… It will be a option in the near future…?

Biggest question…
Is it worth it?
Im into my study level ATR, JF pipers and baes, fenix A320 type aircraft…
Are any of those types of planes in any real detail or are they more for your casual, “start on runway” players…

Don’t give them your money until they’ve come out and said when it’ll be fixed, otherwise you may aswell spend it on some thing better, or get the gamepass version until it’s properly playable.

I bought the Aviator Edition, but I’m pretty irritated that the aircraft weren’t even checked for 2020 compatibility, let alone any 2024-specific upgrades. Many have issues in 2024.

Who knows what the plan is with these aircraft. To date, Microsoft has not engaged me(us) via my thread on the matter — a thread, mind you, that predates MSFS 2024:

Given their non-answer is an answer, take from that what you will before you part with your shekels.

Don’t. Learn from us!

Im still on the fence with the aviators edition…

Definitely don’t do that.

That impulsive purchase side of me (he almost always gets his way) wants it…

Don’t let him win! Buy an ice cream to distract him if you have to.

Is it worth it?

Absolutely not, don’t spend a penny on FS24.

Enjoy 2020 for what it is, and check in on FS24 in a year.

I know how you are feeling.

I didn’t get the Aviator version because I already owned 90% of the aircraft. I regularly fly 6 of them (two with mod) in 2020. As Nixon already said they are all still 2020 native (not compiled using the 2024 SDK).

This said, 3 bucks per plane is a good price if they ever do some work on that fleet. If not those aircraft are no fun in FS2024.

Thanks heaps for the replies from you all.

So in a nutshell…

All of those aviator edi planes are actually in their 2020 state and it would be best to stick to 2020 until those get upgraded… If they get upgraded… Then go from there…

It would be one of those… if I did get the aviators pack now to find that they are not in… and they end up not getting the 24 treatment…

I’m currently winding down my msfs 2020 and removing airports I don’t use and flying to purchased airports I’ve forgotten about that I haven’t even been too… :joy: :joy: :joy:

It’s only a party if you’re a masochist

The planes are probably going to get updated to 2024 but not very soon since they have a lot of other issues and bugs to fix first. It also depends which of the aviator planes you would want to fly.

My guess would be there will probably be and upgrade option when the marketplace launches but it will be more than 70$ like the upgrades were in 2020.

Guys, do you know how to upgrade the game to aviator edition ? My game is on steam and so far there’s no DLC option like for the other game.

Also anyone who’s got it , do you guys have missions with the Boeing 787-10 in career mode? How well they are paid if exist.

I have MSFS2020 via the Microsoft Store, but for some other games I use Steam. So, if you want to update MSFS2024 with Aviator, go to the Steam Store, there search for Microsoft Flight Simulater 2024. There on that webpage, you then can select one of the other versions, like Aviator.
Succes.

Hello,

Yes yes, I already bought the game. But the problem is steam wont let me upgrade it somehow, its just ask me to buy the aviator edition as well

I believe the only options right now are to either purchase the Aviator Edition outright (at full price) or wait for the Marketplace to launch which is expected to include upgrade paths to each higher edition. Just be aware that the price to upgrade to Aviator Edition is expected to be higher than the difference in price between Aviator and Standard, so (I know this is useless for you now, but) it’s always better (and cheapest) to purchase the highest edition you will want from the beginning.

Hi,

There is currently no way to upgrade the edition of FS2024 (except by purchasing a full edition). We will have to wait at least until the online store is available (in principle, at the same time as the SU1). Maybe we’ll see upgrade packs then.

For the 787-10, I have it :sunglasses:.
I bought only the standard edition of FS2024 (ms-store/Xbox), but I previously owned the Deluxe version of FS2020. So I inherited this aircraft without having to buy it again.

The plane appears well in career mode and should in principle be usable for passenger transport. But in fact, currently it is not possible :disappointed_relieved:.

In the “Passenger Transport - Airline” specialization, you can see that the plane is there, but it cannot be used because it requires “Heavy Airliner” certification.

This certification is not yet available. As it is clearly stated, we have to wait for an update :

In airline management, if you own a passenger transport company, it is also in principle possible to buy a 787-10. But there again, since the certification is missing, we can see the plane but we cannot buy it yet. New, the price will be 15,315,000 Cr.

It’s funny, because it’s cheaper than a 737-Max :yum: : 44 passengers and 12999 ft, that’s also nonsense :upside_down_face:.

In the 2nd hand market, the 787-10 Dreamliner can be found for 14,665,640 Cr., again, cheaper than the 737-Max. Like the new, can’t be purchased for the same reason.

As this aircraft is not yet playable in career, I can’t tell if we earn lot’s of money with it.
