I’d be most interested to know what “Crash Reports” Asobo are getting.
Assuming the crash reports come fromm us users, do we not have any right to know what information our PC is sending to Microsoft and/or Asobo (if in fact Any !! )
And no, I have not read all the “fine print” in the EULA .. has anyone apart form MS laywers ?
Unless you expressly allowed it they will be crash codes only but that’s probably enough. And unless you only play offline this “game” is actively exchanging data at sim level all the time, it needs to so there is no way you haven’t agreed to this at installation.
But disabling mods while troubleshooting immediately removes one factor and now if you test the game and see a problem - then you know its not the mods.
Same for the other way round. Disabling community is quick and easy.
Great replies everyone. Thanks for everything , appreciate it
I am having a hard time getting used to this thing and understanding everything . There does seem to be a lot of problems with it.
Maybe I’m just used to that FSX , Played and used that one from day 1 . Had 100’s if not 1000’s of add-ons with that one ( Missions , airplanes . scenery) Can not remember any causing any problems with the game , Some things themselves didn’t work , just got rid of them . But can’t remember anything affecting the game .
But I guess I’ll have to get used to the fact that 2020 is a whole different animal.
I can only speak for the forum/discord issues I give support for, but I will say that 9 out of 10 times, maybe more, it’s either mods misbehaving, user error or hardware related problems.
I will be the last on to say the sim is without problems. It indeed does have some issues, but the majority of problems people have is not the sim’s fault.
I’m on a flight KLAS KAID 747-8 I have 6 things in my community folder. I’m about 350’ mid cruse at this moment. Let me say this MSFS runs like a dream machine for me and most users. Weather stunning. If you disagree meh. I learned the FMS . Works well. Take off from 1L from KLAS Right Turn. I have scenery pack for Airport and City Las Vegas. Spectacular! Frame rate the best no stutters at all with graphics maxed out. I might fly across the pond from KAID . 787-8 is great. Or I might change my mind take the TBM 930 to KMIA VFR is fun or IFR works well From my prospective I’m very happy with the sim. I’m a die hard FSX player… It aways had bugs… but got the one fix when Dovetail bought FSX made it playable to this day. MSFS is very playable and will be playable and wildly entertaining for many years to come and only will get better. That is my report from the cockpit.
Ok Thanks everyone. Yes I agree the scenery and graphics is pretty good , I took a little flight just for curiosity sake just after I got this thing over the 2 little villages where I grew up . I could recognize some of the buildings in those towns , That was just before update 4 I believe . After update 5 or 6 for some reason not quite so recognizable , But still pretty good ,
I do find 2020 a little boring tho , Just flying around to me is just not that interesting . And those few little achievement rewards you get seem a little cheesy and drab .
I liked doing all those addon missions in FSX and getting those rewards , Some were pretty nice . I would like to attach a couple to show you what I mean , but I know those mod guys would jump on me with both feet if I did , so I better not.
Just took a look at a few Bush trips at Flightsim.to and see what you mean about SU7 , Thanks all.
By a crash do you mean a freeze up? I have had a few of those from time to time . Not sure why . Seems if I move my mouse or hat switch a little too fast it happens . I just upgraded my video card tho .
Not really that big a deal (tho it does kind of p me o when it happens) Not unusual for 2020 to do that to me. I just use the task manager and start over .
One thing I’ll add is that, at least some third party add ons are not stored in the community folder, if they were purchased from the marketplace within MSFS.
Freezes can happen when scenery loads in or you move quickly and both at the same time is worse. Apart from avoiding mainthread limited fast ram and a small ramdisk rolling cache IMO are probably the best solutions but a solid internet connection is vital too.
Yep that seems to be what happens . But you went a way over my head with the last sentence. LOL Except the last part . I am sure the internet connection is good .
Well don’t be … If the internet wants to be bad a zillion bit connect cannot help once you get past your ISP Depending on where you live there can easily be as many as 30 different steps on the way.
So have downloaded one from that Flightsim.to site . A new one called “Follow the Colorado River upstream” Installed in the community folder , A fairly long one . but looks and seems to be interesting .
Completed 3 legs so far ,
Noticed something tho . I have done this before and to find the trip you went to Activities/ Bush trips .
Now it seems to be found in Activities / Custom Content . Was that something that was added (the Custom Content thing ) with the last update or was that created when I installed that trip in my community folder ?
