QualityWings 787 for MSFS has been announced!

I’d be okay with that, but I would love them to release a mod for the -10 on top of Asobo’s base aircraft, or a separate -10 built from the ground up

Yes just saw their screenshot it will be the 787-9

Isn’t the stock 787 DRM locked though? I reckon that is a stumbling block for any further third party development on the stock plane.

It is but it can be modified.

The default 787 looks better visually. Asobo did a marvelous job on modeling that 787. Would be really hard to top that.

with low SSD prices, you cannot go wrong with 2TB

It is DRM locked but the QW 787 is an Offical Licenced Product from Boeing so they’ll have everything in it.

Being officially licensed doesn’t mean anything though. Its just a license to sell a product with their name on it. I used to own the Flight Factor 777 for x-plane, which was officially licensed, and there were so many problems with it that made my eyes water.

I’m more concerned with how much third party developers can actually accomplish in a DRM locked aircraft as is the default 787. Outside of that, QW will likely be the way to go.

Lol @ FF 777. The 3d model still gives me nightmares. It was so so bad.

Great news!

Very true. Do you think 2tb is enough? With another 2tb on the secondary drive?

That 777 from flight factor was butt ugly, never even purchased it for xplane

just because it is officially licensed means nothing its just a stamp on the product page. Take a look at Xplane aircraft for example loads of them have boeing and airbus stamps even when they were unfinished betas lol. its a selling point developers use to try and get sales.

It means they get the manuals so they don’t have to make up their own interpretation of the aircraft.

I think 2TB should be enough for the sim.. at least for a few years.

This is great news, finally we will have a working airliner

Can I teleport to q2 2021? :stopwatch: :airplane:

If a 2tb ssd isn’t enough, they will be in trouble. 2tb for just one software is a lot.

Unless you plan to have better satellite imagery for the whole World on higher LODs and plans to buy every aircraft and airport that will be released for the sim, you will be safe.

Well I don’t plan to buy every single airport or aircraft but I do intend to buy a few.

You will be safe. Large airports are/will be around 1 - 2 gbs each. Smaller airports will vary.

The base sim won’t be a lot larger than what it currently is. But, if I’m not mistaken, the Japan DLC is stored locally. If all the future world updates will be stored locally (photogrammetric cities, improved mesh etc) we might see the installation getting really large in the future (but of course you can always chose what to install).
