Maybe order a powered pci usb outlet just to try ( send back if it doesn’t solve issue )
I find in these types of situations blowing hard into say the usb sockets & socket on headset is good , will do nothing but feels as if your doing something constructive
I see , just shelve it await updates
Lots of other good titles to keep occupied with in meantime
I’ve got it running fairly well but not seamless & like you my pc runs everything else flat out , so I find myself side stepping msfs2020 as I can’t be bothered with software that’s a bit effy
Same issue here, I went back to the rift s works great I tried everything to get the quest 2 w/link cable to work and even with stock settings don’t work well, to much shutters.
Can you remove the overclock? I have profiles in my bios that allows me to switch between settings.
Because your issue spans 3 oculus releases it’s unlikely to be MSFS. I would contact oculus support, they are painfully slow but they are consistent in getting back and will have lots of insight into motherboard usb incompatibility.
Hi, I’ve had similar issues and tried multiple solutions including reinstalling everything and had no joy.
What worked for me was disabling XMP settings in BIOS and manually setting up memory timings etc.
This sim is a strange beast, I’m not saying it will work for you, you might not even have XMP enabled but it’s worth a look.
Hi
I was having similar issues. (Same hardware - i7-10700K - RTX3070).
Thinking it was a faulty headset I’ve been in communication with Oculus Support.
After having sent a Crash Log, I was advised that at this time, Oculus Link DOES NOT support RTX30 Series GPUs.
I had assumed that the list on Oculus website was out-of-date, but apparently not.
They are not currently accepting these crashes as a fault with the Oculus Quest 2.
I replied suggesting that an update to address these compatibility issues should be forthcoming.
We’ll see!
In the meantime I will persevere.
I intend to add a post with my latest settings, (which have shown great results), once I’ve tested a bit more.
I think if they don’t support it, they should address this quite fast or a lot of people we’ll go to competitors headsets… Looks like people with G2 have a bit less of issues…
If you mean the app actually crashes, I can’t help you there but if you mean the Oculus disconnects see my post with a solution (powered USB hub) here: Scroll down to my name…
I was having this problem constantly, then read that you must say “DENY” when the oculus asks you to enable link cable.
I have another problem when it is working, the sound is choppy through link,so I just use virtual desktop-wireless.
Thanks for the tip ! One of my assumption was eventually a power draw or something related… I already have a self powered usb hub. I’ll try to grab a A to C adapter and check out if it changes anything. Considering the adapter’s price, it’s definitely worth the try
I start having the same issue, not sure what happened, everything was working fine for me, but yesterday it has started.
Impossible to play, MSFS crashes after 1-2 min I spawn.
