Quest for the holy VR setup

Hello there!

After quite some pause I am again trying to get the most out of my Quest 2 but am struggeling to the sheer amount of options in MSFS itself, Windows,Oculus app, OTT and even SteamVR.
Guides even contradict each other in various settings (e.g. game mode on or off in Windows or OTT settings)
I realize mileage may vary depending on individual hardware setup but is there any way to tell which settings have the greatest impact on performance?

My specs:
RYzen 5600, RX 6900, 16GB Ram, Quest 2.

In 2D I can play with everything at ultra without issues but the VR performance is rather unsatisfactory. Frames in the 30 area but scenery blurred in the distance and frequent stutters .
Am having VR settings mostly to med-high in sim, tried with cable and air-link.

Tried various refresh rates in Quest settings and applied SW 30 in OTT but maybe there is a good setup available for my very setup? I know most users have Nvidia cards that perform better in VR but maybe theres some advice for AMD cards as well

Thanks for any help!

Try virtual desktop!

Huge thanks for this video. I followed the settings & am now enjoying smooth, clear’ish flights for the first time in months.

I can actually have buildings on ultra now and it doesn’t become a stuttering mess at low altitude. I’ve also ramped some other settings up.

I personally lowered the in game render scale to 60% (or 80, i can’t quite remember) then super sampled in the Debug Tool to 1.6/1.7. Worked a charm.

Thanks for the Video. I did the Nvidia Controll Panel Part. Now works really smooth with my 1080ti.
My Problem is that my Headposition jums around ever few seconds. Right/ left movements.

Anyone know what that could be?

Using Quest 2.
