In FS20 I could select an airport, and when I clicked on ‘Zoom to Details’ it would zoom all the way in when I click on ‘Zoom to Details’ so I could see runways and ramps.
In FS24 it zooms in a little but stops short, and I have to manually zoom in with the mouse to see the airport detail. I admit I’ve only tried KSEZ (Sedona) since that’s my main airport.
Anyone else experiencing this? It’s not a huge deal, but I’d like the zoom to go all the way in so I could select a ramp, like it did is FS20.
Yes. It seems to be an issue. I noted it on Day 1.
Another bug for the pile.
You will also find an issue where none of the parking spot/gate/runway nodes appear, so you can’t select one. The only option will be via the drop down menu, which is buried by the airport origin search results drop-down, which can’t be cleared…
Yeah, I’d also like it to remember where I last was and be zoomed into that location like it used to in 2020 when I click on the Free Flight button, rather than always staring at the ocean west of Central America so I have to spin the world and move back to where I was… every… single… time.
Yes, I just saw that as well, you are correct. After using “Zoom to Details”, which goes in part way, I then have to scroll mouse wheel to zoom in more for the actual details.
I run into this when I choose an airport then delete it. If I try to choose the same airport, I get the issue you just posted. At that point I exit and get back in again to start over.
I also hate that it doesn’t mark the parking spot you chose like 2020 used to, so, ADHD me never really knows which spot I chose after I select the destination.
In other words, another useless bit of UI by comparison to what we have 2020: 24 is so much form over function that just sucks the time and joy out of a quick free flight.
Also, when you select a parking lot, it is not marked in any color (green), so it is not highlighted.
These are all small things, but together they make the interface and user experience worse than with FS20.
Strange, My Miap pro works perfectly. One of the suggestions Axair put on their facebook page was not to turn the Miap or your keyboard on until after you are in the sim. I actually don’t turn it or the keyboard on until I am in settings. This seems to eliminate some of the communication problems some have reported having with the Miap. Hope it helps you.
