Why is that?
hold on, because something doesnât make sense to you, youâre telling @camargo24 to not try a possible solution that has worked for other people?
Iâm all for trying to make logical sense of things, but telling other people not to try possible solutions just seems counterproductive.
@Camargo24 just try that HDMI cable. You canât break anything by trying. Just plug it in, and see if it helps. If not, go back to your DP cable. Again, nothing wrong with trying.
Right, one last try!
First. We always fear what we donât understand eh?
And yes I agree, it is a bug. But a software bug not a cable bug.
And whilst, of course, you are free to continue with this madness, so too am I free not to
So when I said âone last tryâ that is exactly what I meanât.
I shall leave you to your magic.
There is Rain, but it is more of a Dizzle, than ârainââŠ
There was a LOT more in FSX. (which was totally unreal)
Itâs actually quite realistic in MSFS, for medium / light rain for small GA.
The Big Boys can take a lot more !!!
Need MORE rain !!
At MAX, I would like to see this :-
Well well well⊠so I connected my HDMI and it seemed to fix the rain issue.
I just connected back my HDMI and I am shocked!
Why doesnât it work with a DP cable ummmmm.
How about a of rain. I get rain but it is soundless against the windshield.
I am using an HDMI port for my main display, so Iâve seen these rain effects all the time. What I find annoying is that the rain effect on the windshield is very sparse, it really doesnt do anything to obscure your view at all, even in heavy rain storms. And windshield wipers are there just for decoration, they have no function what so ever in actually removing rain from the windshield, something that has been working in games for probably close to a decade, at least in racing games. I think this should be implemented in a better way, the current rain effects and wipers are somewhat disappointing.
I agree. The rain looks like drizzle wherever you go. Not seen heavy rain yet. The cockpit windscreen effects can certainly be improved. I miss the Zibo 737 in X-plane. The lib rain effects with windscreen wiper effects are superb.
weird isnât it? I have no clue why.
Try it with an HDMI and see if thatâs really true.
Quick question for everyone as this could be down to drivers, somehow. What video cards are those with the problem running?
Iâm on a 1070ti.
Mine is RTX 2070S
A quote from a post I made elsewhere:
Do not take any advise [including mine] at face value. There are many purveyors of snake oil out there who will tell you with absolute conviction that they possess the miracle âfixâ that you need, when often, it doesnât even exist!
Stay on Topic ???
We are discussing RAIN in MSFS and the lack of it .
How is showing a Real World Video of what it should look like âOFF TOPICâ ?
To me, it would seem to be a valid comparison between MSFS and Real World, and highly relevant to any discussion about the lack of rain in MSFS,
I do not see why this is a COC violation ⊠please explain ???
Agreed. Itâs a mad, mad world.
RTX2080 for me.
What amazed me looking at RL video, was that the visibility of the rain was quite low, even if it is raining hard. This is especially true in flight, where the air stream is moving it off the front cockpit glass. I am therefore concluding that the rain effct in MSFS are quite near to realistic, unlike the depiction of rain in FSX, that many might be use to, and expecting in MSFS.
If anyone is NOT seeing any sign of rain, (as compired with the Promotional video), that may well be a SLIDER issue. If you turn âWindscreem Effectâ down, it can reduce/remove the rain effect on the Cockpit Glass.
HDMI cables being the cause ? What is the TECHNICAL reason that should be so ??
I run with a Cheap HDMI cable from my Nito 5 (mid/lo range gaming laptop), to a 27" Acer monitor (no way a Gaming monitor), and the Rain appears fine â provided I have the âWindscreen Effectâ slider turned up.
What is lacking, is the visibility of rain when flying at night, with landing lights on, at slower speed, like on approach in a small cessna.
Then the rain should be very visible as you fly into it, and it is illuminated by the landing light,
IF there is any major issue with Rain, is that it is not reflecting the landing lights - the only âRain Effectâ is on the cockpit Glass âŠ
And to be fair to Microsoft, they never had a Promo Video, showing Rain at night, being reflected by Landing lights. (ON TOPIC)
