Rain effect on windshield non-existent

Weird rain behavior in the savage cub. Rain on right side window only:

Tried flying in circles to see if it would change sides, it never did.

Also notice the rain streaks are going downwards while I am flying forward.

Thanks, will give that a try later.

Rain is def not working :frowning: sometimes it works but most the time it does not - had bit better luck with real weather than presets

This is what we had at MSFS 2020 first days release…

I think I’ve found a workaround for the problem of parameters in which the high setting is not retained and remains in medium.
I applied the high setting to the global rendering quality, then returned to my own settings. The windshield setting was then retained after saving the parameters.
on the other hand, even if the high setting is retained, there is very little effect on the windows and even less on the windscreen when on the ground, and absolutely nothing in flight…

For me the game crashes when I select the RAIN preset… It does not show the rain effects on the windshield, and then I tested it by playing via CLOUD GAMING. It showed the effects on the windshield, however the game would still crash.

Im also having this bug where rain doesn’t appear on the windshield it been close to a month now… Im still trying to troubleshoot.

just forget about it until asobo fix it, there is no working workaround for this bug.

that what im trying hard to do, about your video i remember it was working find at first.

yes it worked but unfortunately asobo released an unfinished product with many bugs including the rain effect bug

2024 windsheild effect was working fine for about 3 weeks

there were no effect on the front window in any plane since the release of msfs 2024. The rain effect was only on the right and left windows

the rain on the windshield is there but like everything 2024, its a bit of a mess

  1. you need windshield effects on high, and there is a bug that turns it back to medium by itself. Workaround, set an ultra preset, and then restore all your settings from memory, but dont touch the windshield effects
  2. few a/c support it, you need to use one that does, e.g. the 737 max
  3. the rain weather preset itself is bugged and even if you select it, you get no rain

if you manage to work your way around all that, you will get rain on the windshield, and even the wipers work

of course, as is the norm with 2024, more time troubleshooting than flying

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Same issues as the OP

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Rain effects appear not with A321Neo as well

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

It never rains in Asobia?

I miss the sound of rain pelting against my aircraft and its visible representation on the cockpit windows. It adds a lot to the overall immersion.

I have rain drops on a windshield of B737 and even wipers are working (they actually remove raindrops from the windshield) but there are a couple of things that would be nice to fix:

  • amount of the drops is too low, like it was a 1-minute drizzle even if there is a pouring rain
  • inverted motion effect: when aircraft is moving raindrops slide down instead of going up. It looks terribly unrealistic.

I finally discovered what fixed this for me. Turning windshield effects to high. I had them on medium and it showed up on side windows but not the front. Soon as I went to high, there it is!

This is in VR.

and another problem is; it is only raining for 3-4 minutes then stops raining.
