Raytracing shadows option greyed out, can't be enabled in VR

Is anybody able to enable raytraced shadows in the VR settings? Is there some dependency to another option?
I was able to enable it in the non-vr graphics settings but in the VR settings menu, it’s greyed out:

System Specs:
Windows 10 22H2
64GB RAM
CPU: 9800X3D
GPU: RTX 4090
1Gbit/s Fibre connection
VR Headset: Varjo Aero

no addons, no openXR toolkit so far. Just plain vanilla msfs2024.

Same problem for me but the opposite, I can’t disable it!

Same thing with the Quest 3, Virtual desktop and an RTX4080
