Anybody know just how realistic IFR flightplans generated are? Most within Australia seem quite accurate, but I just set a flightplan from RJTT to EGLL. The flight had me going over Russia and entering Europe over northern Finland. In real life, ANA and JAL flights travel over northern Alaska, Canada and Greenland before heading to Iceland and Scotland.
Making a quick check on SkyVector, the direct route between is really through Russia and Scandinavia, so you probably have seen the new routes that avoid russian airspace due to the Ukrainian war
Simbrief is free to use without a Navigraph subscription (albeit the AIRAC is slightly father behind) and it also generates real world routes.

That is one lengthy flight!
BUt what plane can you use for that? Surely not the defaults? Are the Mods for the 747/787 worth investing this amount of time into? I am dying for a study level long hauler! The only reason I bought XP12 was to use the A340-600 and 767-400 744-200 on long hauls, was hoping the default A330 would come with better systems but they will be released soon.
MSFS badly needs a PMDG/Fenix/FBW level long hauler!!
Ive flown several times from the UK (usually heathrow or frankfurt in ger) to Japan (Tokyo and Beijing in china), every time was over russia.
flighttime 10h ish
PMDG already said that their next project after the 737 series is the 777 which is already in development and shouldn’t take forever to release. Besides that, I can’t wait for the fbw A380
