I have tried this several times and cannot reproduce your issue.

Iā€™ve spent all day troubleshooting since updating to WU7 as I was getting CTD even in Safe Mode, have done over 10 load ins at 4 different airports and none of them saved in the recent list. I even made a quick direct GPS flight plan that did not make a difference.

Still getting CTD when panning the camera at low altitudes but seems to be more stable with HAGS off. I also used DDU and installed the new Nvidia drivers and tried with both GFE installed and not. I now have it installed but have overlay off. All other overlays are off (Discord, Steam, Xbox).

If thereā€™s anything else you could suggest testing (other than a full reinstall) let me know because Iā€™m out of ideas. Mods, no mods, safe mode - no difference. I even did a verify files with Steam which said no integrity issues and then MSFS decided to download 17GB of files anyway for no reason. Sim has been running pretty awesomely stable (even with mods) prior to WU7.

What does your windows Event View report?

0xc0000005 errors attributed to either FlightSimulator.exe, ucrtbase.dll, or nvwgf2umx_cfg.dll.

The Nvidia one is thinking maybe I should roll all the way back to 497.29, as both 511.17 and .23 seemed the same stability wise.

I believe the CTD issue is separate to the Airport History issue though.

The airport recent list does not work for me either. It is populated by the first three airports and have been stagnant for months.

Same. History not saved again. Also, the sims CTDs when closing down a lot at the moment. So when I select Quit to Desktop from the main menu. Wonder if thatā€™s related.

It looks like itā€™s partially working again, but only when I load a .PLN file (from SimBrief). Selecting a departure airport or creating a route in the sim does not save the airports.

The World-Map is still showing me three random airports I never flew from (or to) instead of my recent airports. Has anyone found a solution? I canā€™t find anything.

Can we please please get this fixed? Or get ā€œfavoritesā€ instead that we could pin to the top manually? Especially in VR, it adds extra trouble having to type the airport name.

Itā€™s been going as far back as I can remember (bought the game on launch day).

Mine also stopped working after the latest sim update. Iā€™m using PC Version from the Store. I am not using developer mode. I have not disabled any mods or addons, as this feature worked with them before and I havenā€™t added anything new. Sim does not save the last 3 airports visited. The same airport remains in the history flight after flight. i910850k z490 3080 32GB ram

This is not a new development for my system. Itā€™s been probably a year. Also, it is not intermittent for me. Hasnā€™t changed at all, same 3 are displayed.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The departure history in World map worked like the first two flights but now it doesnā€™t seem to update anymore. Itā€™s probably the least severe bug among a long list of them, but Iā€™m actually a bit baffled that this is an issue. We had this bug for a long time in 2020 but it was, to my knowledge, solved eventually. So it really shouldnā€™t be a problem anymore.

Wow thereā€™s a lot of threads on this issue but this seems the only one that hasnā€™t been closed with to ā€˜bug fixed in version 0.1.2.3ā€™.

Here I am in December 2024, MSFS version 1.38.2.0 and have been stuck with the same bug for ages but there doesnā€™t seem to be any clue or fix how to clear the bug out. Anyone tried a MSFS2020 re-install ?

In a worrying twist I have the same issue in MSFS2024.

I reckon itā€™s something to do with MS/Asobo being helpful by storing my airports history on the cloud rather than on my PC. Iā€™m pleased they do that because that 3 airport list would be eating up my storage like crazy, but Iā€™d still like a way to reset/reboot this entire complex remember-3-airports system.

Itā€™s obviously been years now without a fix from Asobo - does anybody actually have a rub-it-out-and-start-again reboot hack method, like delete a file or something ?

Yeah this thread was for 2020, but looks like the 2024 bugs have ended up in here.

Very disappointing how many 2020 bugs are present in 2024.

I literally still canā€™t play the game and my refund was deniedā€¦

I think there is a misunderstanding on this topic.

I would hazard a guess that most of us would like an airport to be preserved in history if it is MERELY SELECTED at any point;

whereas, currently in both MSFS and MSFS2024, for an airport to be perserved in the menu in recent history, you must:

A. Load into said airport
B. Depart said airport in the sim, and then end the flight

This is contrary to what I think people are expecting of the recent airports functionalityā€¦ i.e. if you merely SELECT IT IN THE MENU (i.e. without necessarily loading into it), it is preserved.

That said, this might fall into a feature request.
