Has anyone been able to recreate such clouds as seen in one of the official trailers?
Especially these anvil structures.
Hopefully we can do it via custom settings.

Hi,
What are your settings and specs?
My clouds looks exactly like these in the official trailers.
Would be keen to hear what your settings are as I have pixelated clouds all over the place!
I am talking about the cloud formation.
Do you have a custom weather setting that looks exactly like in the screenshot?
Hi,
They occur during some of my flights, to speed up time i sometimes fly straight to them. even better looking ones.
The weather really changes during flights. Next time i can make a screenshot if you like.
Yes, sure.
Was it live weather or a custom set?
I have yet to see such anvil clouds as in the first post.
You can recreate them with custom weather, by merging 2 layers together, one taller in heights like 1-20k and the the second smaller height for the top.
Try to make 3 cloud layers. The lower two you make really thick. And they should overlap a bit. So the bottom layer go’s inside the lower part of the second layer. This will make them join together. Now both layers should be set to around 50-70% coverage and thickness around 10000 ft for the bottom one and a good 30000 feet for the top one. Both layers should not be scattered. The last layer at the top should be a thin layer. As thin as possible and with a 30-50% coverage. Now you should asjust the height towards the lower layer until it’s almost going inside it. You should see the two layers starting to bind togheter to get that table top effect at the top of the thick cloud layer. To add some more dramatic effect turn on thunder so you get those high tower cumulus. Try to use this as a starting point and fiddle with the layers until you reach the desired result. Also sun position has a huge impact on how the clouds look. But it’s definately possible to get those kind of clouds.
Fly to high altitude and zoom out for the same effect as in the picture. Good luck
Hi,

Ps what are your specs and settings?
Many people have the same beautiful clouds as i do, so that’s why i ask
Can create them with custom settings and the default storm setting should provide similar results, the big problem I have with manual custom weather (which I have made a fair few in sims based on looking at many weather soundings over the years) is you cannot select different areas or stations like in FSX or P3D so once you customise the weather everywhere you fly it’s like that which looks silly especially with a endless amount of storms.
Some of the most impressive upper level / anvil like structures I have seen were with live weather from the outside of big tropical storms like Bavi and Laura, there’s a big tropical storm NE of the Philippines right now strengthening that look pretty impressive when I looked earlier today.
Yeah, that’s one thing I don’t like too. If you set a custom weather, it’s the same everywhere. I think there is no dynamic.
I wish we would be able to save live weather as a custom set with a given radius around your current location.
