For me this screen showed nothing. I just skipped for now.

When trying to customize, it simply CTDs.

Yep, I have the red man. I decided not to worry too much about customizing and pressed ahead to the main menu. Though it crashed when I tried to do anything else.

NOTE: It caused further issues later sadly.

Yes I am getting the same issue with a CTD if I touch any of the buttons on the screen. Also I cannot load into any flights, not sure if this is connected.

Yeah, my system stuck with a blank customization screen, i then managed to bypass it? Then i trued career mode, and its stuck in the cockpit, wont let me enter/exit, but it acknowledges when it when i look around and WASD. Then i noticed the red error dude instead of any kind of avatar i reinstalled this morning, hopefully that fixes it

I am in Trouble…A new installation was of no use. Has anyone found a workaround for this issue?

I found a fix to this issue of character creation crash to desktop.

If on microsoft store, delete all files in
C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\P
ackages
IMicrosoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8
bbwe\LocalCache, and then reboot
your pc

You may need to uninstall the game before doing this, I did to make sure.

Now I can create my character and no more crash to desktop!

2024 crash on character creation

The only way I could FINALLY fix the red character error was: 0-. Uninstall the sim in Xbox App 1-. Open the sim in the streaming mode (Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on  Xbox.com) 2-. Use it for 5-10min 3-. Close the game 4-. In the same page, select the Settings icon. 5-. Select the Manage games tab. 6-. Erase your profile and save game 7-. Install the game again and DO NOT skip the initial character customization. It worked for me after trying plenty of online suggestions, hope it helps. (…

Yeah same here. I think because I have this error man character, it’s broken the career mode because everytime I try career mode I get stuck in the cockpit and can’t move. Pretty certain this is linked.

I see someone above has posted a fix for Xbox/MS Store.. If someone knows a fix for Steam that would be great.
