I don’t understand the strategy of some 3rd party devs…
Expensive aircraft, only available on the marketplace, no online preview/review, not even a single promotional video, no participation either on this forum, on Reddit or AvSim.
I fit perfectly in their potential target demographics with my love of vintage aircraft and everything related to Aeropostale and St-Exupéry. I’d only need a nudge to get it, and yet…

Is there a bit of engine realism built in? Potential damage if flown outside of proper parameters? And for the mixed bag of textures, where is it bad? Does it have some rudimentary way of heading hold and altitude hold, or it’s hands on the whole time? Missions are actually working? Does it come with the floatplane configuration as well?
Still hoping someone will put out a video of it at some point…

Float plane not yet.
It has a full damage system for engine electrics and fuselage.
It has a heading and alt hold. If you have the pms50 mod that works for all autopilot functions.
The handling is really nice.

To give you an idea of the systems depth. Everything can be damaged and most can be repaired. Some can even be fixed Inflight like the radio.

Marketplace only?
I’m a big fan of Redwing I have the Connie, the Bugatti, even the Hindenburg. Quite unique products, fresh and different from many other add-ons.
And as a fan I must say I’m as confused as you with this release.
First of all I really disagree with the idea of spending thousands of hours in this obscure plane when the Connie badly needs an update, a good Connie will give them 1000x the money they can get from this one, at least that’s what I think.
This is probably a very good product but why release it without the float version at this pricing? They don’t have a good record with their promises, so while I’m a fan of this dev I will have to wait on this one.
And I’m wondering if they managed to make me not buy this product how are they going to make any money out of it… while they are sitting on their flagship, the Connie.
I just don’t get it but well things are what they are.
Agreed on the pricing and especially with the lack of a float version. I think Redwing would make a lot more money overall if they sold their planes for less, because you have to really want a specific plane to spend north of $35 on it. I have bought many planes on a whim, on the other hand, for $20 or less.
Regarding the Connie, they did mention on Discord that an FS2024 version is planned for later in 2025.

I just think releasing the Connie update first would have given them time and credit to keep working on the Late and then release it with the float version as it should be.
I’m happy it is having good rating in the MSFS Marketplace.
@anon4683901 As for why it is only available on the marketplace, you may not understand the story behind it, which was personally stated by the Redwing team on Discord. The day after they uploaded the file to SimMarket, it was published on a piracy website, so it could only be released on the marketplace. However, the review process on the marketplace is very slow, and even the pirated version gets approved faster than the genuine version, so they had no choice but to release it exclusively on the marketplace. They are expected to release four variants: late-28.1 is the land version, late-28.3 is the seaplane, and there will also be bomber and torpedo versions later, likely late-28.5 and late-28.9. They have promised to produce videos.
