Awesome I didn’t know these options where equivalent, using tray tool will be very convenient as i was modifying the setting every time I opened the app
Huh I read the Mirror FOV option tooltip in OTT not to be affecting the headset screens. I’ll give it a try.
Can you tell me your exact steps to apply these changes from OTT in MSFS? In my case I have to Ctrl+Tab out of VR, select ASW and PD drop-downs and set them again to the same, and then go back into Ctrl+Tab to apply them.
Does reducing the FOV in bug tool work when using Quest 2 through Virtual Desktop and SteamVR?
i tested today with Multiplier 1.0/1.0, then you will see more black frames on screen with much more stuttering. With 0.7/0.7 everything looks like fine and smooth without a recognizeable frame on screen.
1st i start OTT automatically with windows, then start Oculus Software and MSFS 2D, if you are ready to fly switch to VR with Ctrl. Tab. Please click save button after every changes in OTT. Take changes only in 2D mode and go back to VR.
i will test it today with my new Wifi6 router, hold on
because of its own engine steamxr_win64.json i think the OTT tool does not work with virtual desktop.
I´m also looking for a solution that works with virtual desktop.
If i use the oculus_openxr_64.json in the registry MSFS cannot find my headset if i want to switch to VR
Any ideas ?
I’m not sure why VD needs to run through SteamVR? As with other apps/games, we can run Oculus app through VD. Maybe the answer is that I bought MSFS through Xbox Game Pass?
I did another post explaining what i now think it’s happening here based on this thread
Hi
I use Occulus Tray Tool. If I change FOV in there is that the same as changing it in the Occulus like you did? Are you changing the rendering scaling in MFS?
Do you use Occulus Tray tool?
I have a ryzen 5 2900 32gb ram and GTX 1660 OC…fairly humble system and so I am tying to eek our every FPS
Yeah it’s the same, I’m using 100% scaling and forcing 30 hz on oculus tray tool.
