Hello All - I have a question regarding Flight Simulator 2022 I used MSFS for a decade plus, but am now able to jump to the newest PC version.
My question is since there are SO many options to BUY on line (I have no CD ROM) - Game Pass, steam MS Store- what have been the users experiences ?
Which company do you normally use?
There really isn’t much difference in where you get the sim.
Neither version has much an advantage over the other as far as issue with the sim goes.
Get it where you feel comfortable.
If you can afford it, get the Premium Deluxe version, an upgrade later is very expensive.
Which level you should buy depends on which airports and airplanes you
want to fly.
Right now, I fly the Cessna CJ4 mostly and is my favorite.
The Cessna Longitude only comes with the Premium purchase.
The Longitude is getting a lot of praise.
Now, I have to buy the full Deluxe package to get it.
So, I probably will not. Should have bought the Deluxe back then.
Steam users are happy also. But I have never used it.
Thanks to you both - So far the MS Store is out since you can’t get a download, only shipped to and I have NO CD ROM But will for sure get the Premium Deluxe
Or if you already use Steam for other games, you can just buy it there. Personally, I think that’s the better option since you don’t get locked into the whole MS ecosystem with the multitudes of extra add-on services you need to all have running perfectly for MSFS to run on to of the DLC locked folders it creates on your system.
I can download Gunny - I know it’s played online, not CD - my ? was where is the best place others have found / used (Game Box / X Box reviews for downloads are awful) The MS store has only the game package (no downloads) I have NO CD ROM
But thanks anyways
Thanks Crunchmeister71 and others who have replied Your 3 options are the only ones I’ve also found. Boxed set is out for me No CD ROM) - MS Store , ONLY CD ROM delivery. Steam looks like the only option that I have left, sad I’m a disabled vet and really wanted to get back into flying again after my old puter crashed (8 Years old)
Guess it’s now up to me …
External optical drives are actually quite inexpensive these days. I have one very similar to this one that works well.
The only problem with loading from disk is that you’ll still have to download all of the updates, which will probably take just about as long as downloading the current stable version.
