The Flight Model: Although MSFS does not currently include a helicopter flight model, FlyInside has had one under development for years (for FlyInside Flight Simulator). Our flight model provides an authentic helicopter flight experience, with realistic collective/cyclic response, ground effect, flap-back, transverse flow, torque/yaw, and auto-rotation capabilities.
For those of you with helicopter flight controls, our 47G has a piston engine simulation, with manual throttle control. For those running a normal joystick, you can also turn on the auto-governor and fly using 4-axis control only.

We have an update launching tomorrow (9/23) afternoon! It’s been a while, but we’ve been making some deep changes to the helicopter to increase performance.
The full change-log:
- Optimizes Bell 47 by combining textures, remapping UVs, and merging materials. Reduces both CPU and GPU utilization, should yield 10-25% performance improvement on most PCs
- Resolves missing material on tail section, fixes right-hand door rivet placement
- Adds Old Orange livery
- Adds Gulf Stream livery
The performance improvements are nice, especially in VR.

FlyInside is very excited to announce that the FlyInside Bell 47G-2A1 is coming to the MSFS Marketplace this Thursday 11/11! The Bell 47 will be available for PC only at this time.
The Marketplace version of the 47 shares the same stunning artwork, hyperrealistic flight model, and detailed systems as our website version. The biggest difference you’ll notice is the completely integrated Heli Manager.
Rather than running as a separate program, Heli Manager runs and appears as a floating window inside Microsoft Flight Simulator with the flip of a cockpit switch.
Of course, you’ll have access to all the same settings and tweaks from the version sold at our online shop.

For existing owners of the FlyInside Bell 47 who wish to switch to the MSFS Marketplace version, we are working with Microsoft to implement that. It is not currently possible at this time.
This means there is no way to switch back and forth. The Integrated HeliManager is part of the MS copy protection.
Both Versions have exactly the same functions but only differ in the actual implementation of HeliManager.

Great news everyone, the FlyInside B-47 1.8 update is now available on our website and in the MSFS Marketplace! In addition to some small fixes and features (like openable doors), this update adds a water-capable floats version of the helicopter!
- Adds floats versions of the B-47
- Adds three new floats-only liveries
- Adds dust kick-up and water spray particle effects
- Cabin doors are now open-able and animated
