Hi everyone,
I’m the developer of Simple Flight Planner, and I’d like to share another app from the Simple Flight Suite: Simple Flight Remote.
Remote puts a moving map, cockpit controls, instruments, a full ATC radio and a first officer on your phone or tablet. You run it on your sim PC, open the address it shows in your tablet’s browser, and you’re connected over your home Wi-Fi. It works with MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. There’s no account, no subscription and no FSUIPC, and everything runs on your own PC.
Moving map
- Your aircraft live on the map, north-up or track-up.
- Load your flight plan and the route appears with every waypoint named, the active leg highlighted, and the distance and time to the next waypoint.
- Layers for AI traffic, VORs, NDBs, localizers and enroute fixes, all taken from the sim’s own navigation database, so the map always matches your aircraft.
- A nearby list of navaids and fixes with frequencies, bearings and distances, handy when you need to pick a diversion quickly.
Cockpit controls
- Autopilot: AP, HDG, ALT, V/S, NAV and APR, with the heading bug, altitude and vertical speed.
- COM1 and COM2 tuning with standby swap.
Instruments and glass
- A full set of instruments drawn from live sim data, with an engine strip that adapts to piston, twin, turboprop or jet.
- Your aircraft’s own G1000 on a tablet, with working softkeys and knobs.
- The G3000 touch controller, working on the tablet.
- Aircraft checklists on your tablet.
A full ATC radio, offline
- ATIS and AWOS built from the weather your sim is actually running.
- CTAF calls at uncontrolled fields, with AI aircraft announcing their positions in their own voices.
- Towered service from start to finish: an IFR clearance read against your plan, then ground, tower, departure, approach and back in.
- Taxi instructions taxiway by taxiway, from a controller who notices if you wander off the route.
New in 4.1: a first officer
- Reads your checklists aloud, does its own items, and checks your answers against the aircraft.
- Makes the takeoff and approach callouts: V1, rotate, positive rate, minimums and more.
- Push-to-talk voice commands: “flaps one”, “before takeoff checklist”, “gear up”.
- Can work the radio for you: readbacks, frequency changes, and self-announcing at uncontrolled fields.
- Can learn custom switches on add-on aircraft.
- Imports your existing rsFirstOfficer checklists.
Better on phones
4.1 also improves the phone layout. The map buttons now fold away under a MENU button, so you get more map and nothing runs off the edge of the screen.
