Hi everyone,
I’d like to share VRpilot, a free add-on I made to fly on VATSIM without ever leaving the sim, and without taking off your headset if you fly in VR.
VRpilot opens vPilot for you and connects to VATSIM. Then you tune ATC, read the ATIS, chat with controllers and follow the traffic on a live map, all from one window inside MSFS 2024.
New in 1.1.0: VRpilot in the EFB. VRpilot is now also an app of the MSFS 2024 EFB tablet, in every aircraft. You choose where to see it: in the EFB, in the toolbar panel or in both.
It’s not only for VR users: it’s for anyone who wants all the VATSIM tools at hand on the monitor too.
Main features
- Connect from the cockpit: VRpilot starts vPilot and connects, with a large on-screen keyboard, your last connection pre-filled and the callsign of your new SimBrief plan proposed.
- Radio: ACT / STBY buttons next to every frequency set your COM1 with one tap; swap, 122.800 advisory, TX / RX lights.
- VOL / MIC: VATSIM volume and microphone gain, always in sync with vPilot.
- Transponder: mode badge (OFF, STBY, ON, ALT, GND, IDENT…); your code turns green when it matches the squawk assigned by ATC.
- SimBrief: route, level, ETE; see if your plan is filed on VATSIM or edited by ATC.
- ATC lists: nearby airports and centers with their online stations, ATIS, METAR and TAF.
- Live map: sectors, traffic and your route. Zoom in on an airport for taxiways, holding points, runways and stands, free or occupied.
- Your stand, protected: VRpilot warns you if another VATSIM pilot is on your stand.
- Messages: radio and private messages, with a popup for new private messages.
- Built-in web browser: VATSIM VDGS / CDM page, charts, SimBrief and any website you need.
- Light on your PC: it only works while you use it.
Requirements: Windows 10 / 11, MSFS 2024, vPilot for Windows and a VATSIM account. SimBrief is optional.

Feedback, bug reports and suggestions are very welcome: I’ll keep VRpilot updated with your requests.
Blue skies and see you on VATSIM!
