[RELEASED] Aeroplane Heaven Cessna C-140

I hope this one one day makes it onto the marketplace for Xbox

Kinda hoping the sounds will be updated to support attenuation for indoor vs outdoor, open vs closed windows/doors, etc. But I don’t really expect that; they seem to have moved on to other projects.

All of which also have pretty bad sound. With all of these official partnership releases, you’d think they could afford a sound engineer or to outsource it. With another one of their Local Legends landing today, I’m already bracing for awful sounds. Microsoft should push for better sound quality from an official partner.

They just posted on their Facebook complaining about people complaining about sounds on their recent Microsoft partnerships and blaming Microsoft for it. We’ll see.

I just saw that. I’m sure it’s frustrating for them and some of the complaints about them recently do seem to be over the top, but it does seem like their sounds aren’t up to the standards of other developers.

If Microsoft is the problem every addon plane would have the same issues?

Stevie’s is technically a 140A (all-metal wing and only a single bracing strut).

Xyla Foxlin has a “regular” 140 (fabric wing and V-strut) though.

Anyway I’ve been flying this again recently and enjoying it. In some ways I think this is still AH’s best all-around effort for MSFS2020. Wish there were more repaints.

Same here. My attention keeps going to faster planes with more advanced systems, but something keeps bringing me back to the lil’ 140. I recently looked at my flight time per plane and was surprised to see the 140 was at the top. Probably because it takes so long to get anywhere.

It’s a nice aircraft to fly in real life, really hope they add it for Xbox

Curious: how are you doing that? I remember someone here posting that they wrote a script to parse out flight hours by type.

To be fair, a lot of those addons just use a default MS soundset like for instance the 152 sounds.

AH at least went to the effort of creating their own, but yes it needs more work.

Despite all that, this is one of just a handful of go-to aircraft I fly regularly. For very low and slow I gravitate towards either the 140 or the Tiger Moth.

I love it, it’s just so utterly minimal and back to real flying - with the upside that if you absolutely need it there is an autopilot just a click away (for things like say visiting the Men’s room)

Im trying to decide…Archer, Skymaster twin or the AH Cessna 140. I would take the 140 right now, but it cost more then the Skymaster on sale so…Is Airplane Heaven going to have any boxing day sale or newyears sale as Im itching to get my CC out and hit that thing!

Check to see if the plane is in “a good mood.” LoL, does that thing work for women too? haha, …uh, joke, settle…

I wish this one would come to Xbox version, me and many others would love to get this one. Guess we have to wait until Carenado made theirs since they do plan on making that one but when is the question.

Carenado is planning to make a Cessna 140?

They plan on making a 140 and 150 but no idea on when though but it is on their radar

In my opinion, for about the same money you really can’t go wrong with the Carenado C182 RG II. But I guess that might kind of be considered “off topic”?

I just got the Boris C152 sound package and as I had the C140 aliased to the stock C152 sound files I got a pleasant surprise when I loaded up the C140 today. Just fyi. I think I’ll keep it like this.
