[RELEASED] Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire Mk1

Ive added what you have mentioned to my list of bugs in the previous posts.

Regarding the how to open the engine cowling, there is an invisible switch next to the labels for the radiator flap control, basically just click to the left of the labels

couple of comments -

  • clearly a post March '41 model with the “Shilling orifice” cos you know, no blacksmoke and stutter under neg G
  • some of the cockpit issues people are having may be related to new versus legacy mouse settings
  • engine cowling is a click spot in the cockpit described in the manual
  • prop is variable pitch not 2 speed or constant speed you need to work it continually as you climb and dive

I love spits and now own 2 of them in FS. I can see the latest offering might need a little more work, as others have mentioned and look forward to seeing those improvements in time
I seem to have spotted another issue that hopefully is a quick fix
it is only cosmetic since it’s texture related
I notice that the airelon and elevator surfaces have an odd texture and is more matt than the rest of the surrounding paintwork. see image

Almost certainly correct.

The early model Spitfires were painted metal wings and tail but with fabric covered ailerons and elevators.

The metal control surfaces first emerged with the MKIV .

The bottom fuel tank seems to empty before the upper tank. I may be wrong but thought the upper tank kept the bottom tank full until it was empty and then the bottom tank contents reduced. I am assuming the left gauge is the upper tank as the tool tip shows this as so.
Nice aircraft though and nice to fly.

ah I see.Cheers for the info

It would be nice if Asobo had some internal modelmatching so if you bought one spitfire, the other would still show up as that model and not a beechcraft

I’d be happy if you didn’t need to have the exact same livery installed before the generic aircraft replacement was used. It almost makes 3rd party liveries useless in a multiplayer environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Windows 7, 8, 10
  • Microsoft Flight simulator V 1.19.8.0 +

I was not aware that MSFS 2020 could run on Windows 7 or 8 ??
Can it ???

nah - you need Win10/64 .

It would be nice if MSFS had Model matching – PERIOD !!!

I have yet to see any documentation from Asobo that clearly documents how MSFS’s existing Modelmatching is “meant” to work.

Maybe a Win10 VM running on Win 7.

How would you compare it with the Spitfire, FlyingIron ?!

Not at FI standard yet, for me there are a few bugs and the sound lets it down. But I’m sure it will be a great edition after a few updates.

Fair “big” bug, you cannot turn the Generator on if you are using the QV Restored livery
, so boycott that for now.

Ive tried it, loaded in various liveries, that one I cannot turn the generator on.

I know, but it doesn’t cover all that’s in the manual. I am just saying it would be better. The manual, as it is, looks more like a commercial flyer with all the pretty pictures in the background making the text hard to read - which is kind of obsolete because who is trying to read the manual already has payed for the aircraft. Just saying. In the manual of the C140 it was OK beacuse of the incomplexity of the aircraft, in fact I think I didn’t even look into the manual there. But with the Spitfire I would like to have the checklists next to me on the table (readable).

The Amperemeter is flickering and there is a strange sound gap during engine start
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2021 09 16 20 38 20 02 - YouTube
Did anyone else notice this?

Is there any news on when it will be available from Just Flight?

Seen it’s live on every other store but still nothing from Just Flight

I noticed both, the sound when it stops is very off putting, ive put it in the large list of bugs few posts up
