[RELEASED] Astro ONE | Got Friends

I’ve set the trim and started using it, it was a battle on the Velocity One, this makes it so much more enjoyable.
Fantastic product, very very pleased with it.
If you hadn’t before you’ve certainly ‘GotFriends’ now on the forum.
Looking forward to your next release, I imagine with your input on here you’ve bumped the sales for whatever it is before it is even released.
A big thank you for this one….and the others.

So much fun!
The newest version 1.0.2. is a really good improvement of flying.

But anyway, just here to say:

We need a car horn on that thing

When I got my Xbox I never expected to be in any forums, so I let my daughter choose a name that amused her as my gamertag.
Well, it amuses her much more now.

At the end of the day, our list was always a recommendation. I’m sure there is better ways out there to allocate hotkeys and I’m sure the Astro One will find a popular contoller setup when a user finally “strikes gold” and shares that golden standard with the rest of the community.

For now, all we can do is ensure the coding is in place so users can map that functionality to whichever hardware they use. We did that and that’s the most important thing to our team, especially when it comes to interpreting our Custom Coding and Physics Engine into the simulator for a wide use of variety.

Regardless, as mentioned, purely recommendation since the overall experience is in the hands of the end-user and what they want to do with the tools we’ve provided. Normally we don’t even have a Hotkey Recommendation in our products, but this being the first true EVTOL, we knew it would be best to deliver that knowledge since it’s a new experience for many people.

Beautiful thing, thank you!

Question:
I can’t find the LocalCache folder in my system, that path doesn’t exists.
This happened before, but can’t remember where the right one is.
I’m using Steam version. Any ideas where that folder may be? and / or the User.cfg.
This is about modifying the resolution of the mirrors.
Cheers.

I absolutely adore this gem of a craft…I’ve really discovered a new found love for low and slow flying. Just superb work guys…I honestly feel like im robbing you with the ridicuously low price point.

One question…are you considering an amphibious/float version? Would love to pair this up with something like ‘Return To Misty Moorings’. Also dream of a ‘taxi’ version…slightly bigger with back seats for the tourists…but I know thats not even a thing yet haha!

Keep it up guys. By far the best and most innovative developer for MSFS in 2023 ( and 2022 … and 2021)

In the next version 1.0.3., we are already hard at work and listening to your feedback.

We have modified our coding so that any user who uses the “unlimited fuel” setting provided in MSFS will indeed have unlimited energy as well.

We are also fine-tuning the Auto-Landing Assist which expands further on the newly implemented Smart Landing Assist. More information on that will come out when it’s fully ready.

Hope you all are enjoying your day!

Cheers!

I’m glad to hear it. I was an XboxMonkey myself until aging hands objected to my maintaining a deathgrip on my controller through hours of tense FPS play, and I had to go back to an expensive gaming computer and (gently) waggling my joystick while trading in Elite Dangerous.

I wasn’t intending to mock the name so much as the Prisoner Number after it. I’ve been using the handle dagwit on bulletin boards and forums for almost a quarter of a century now, and this is the first time anyone’s threatened me with the possibility that there might be more than one of me. Since in almost a quarter of a century there never has been, I picked what I thought was the appropriate number.

OK, to pretend that this post has some relevance to the topic at hand:

There hasn’t been all that much about the racing - which was supposed to be the focus of the AstroONE - in this thread.

So can I just take this opportunity to point out that the racing won’t happen by itself?

If you are interested - more of a cross-country flier, myself - remember it won’t happen until someone who is steps up and goes to the GotFriends Discord server or wherever and starts organising races.

OK, now this post isn’t OT at all.

Elite Dangerous looks full on!
Just finished Sniper Elite 5 on Xbox.
PGA Tour is good fun as well.

Funny you should mention that!

I can keep the cat in the bag no longer… I have something “cooking in the pot”, that I am introducing here for the VERY FIRST TIME!

In collaboration with Got Gravel and Got Friends, in a semi-official manner, this is COMING SOON…

I am in the process of testing and finalising the Event Calendar, which will be published IN FULL ahead of time, showing a complete year and more of upcoming (bi-weekly) race dates & times, event locations and which aircraft we will be using for that event. You can be sure a LOT of the events will be built for the Astro ONE, but we will be mixing in all the other Got Friends creations (both payware and freeware) to really test your mettle as a pilot. I am very excited!!! :heartpulse:

I will make a more detailed post about it on these forums, the GG Discord and my own Discord in the coming days / week or so and we can kick things off at the first event!

Looking forward to see you on the grid… very soon! :checkered_flag: :traffic_light:

You can find it here:

I’ve just found a new use for the Astro - looking at the moai - statues - on Easter Island.

I did a tour of the island in my Tiger Moth - not the fastest of aircraft - and by the time I was close enough for the statues to reach full resolution I was already passing them.

Unless you’re an ace helicopter pilot I’d say your best chance of having a good look at them is in the Astro. I’m going back there now myself to do that.

Not that they’re hugely exciting. But they are famous and you can always say you’ve been there and seen them. No need to mention how.

  • Terrain Tracker on Ground with Zero Throttle will not Take-Off without Throttle Authority

This doesnt work for me. it still take off if Terrain mode is activated.
But the Auto landing is nice. If landing manualy there is a zone with the throttle where it just drop like a stone and a few RPM more it will sky rocket again.

Are you at Zero Throttle? It won’t take-off unless you are above 1% on Throttle.

Yes throttle is zero and it still take off. As far as I get Autoland needs zero throttle as well and this works fine. No issues there. I can Auto land and as soon i disconect terrain mode the blades instant stop spinning (zero throttle) if I activate Terrain hold again it takes off.
