[RELEASED] Astro ONE | Got Friends

Alright, I’ll look into it. In the meantime, let’s ensure someone else is experiencing this issue. On my end it is working, so may be hardware or sensitivity related? Not sure.

Thank You for looking into it, for me it isnt that important since taking off and taxi isnt that hard as the drop of height while reducing throttle to land is more important, but with auto land no big deal anymore.

Thank you!
That’s the path.
Now, and sorry to bother you again, I can see no such folder in there, this are all the folders in there.

AstroOne

Could you please direct me to the full path -steam version- for that User.cfg file?

Cheers!

\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator, you don’t need a ‘Localcache’ folder

the file name is usercfg.opt

Oh I’m sorry, now I get it!

This is not a proletary file from your product, but the generic file from the Sim.
Hahahaha, soooooorry, I thought I was going crazy.

Got it sorted.
Thanks a bunch/

non worries at all  enjoy

I should be posting my Oliver Twist image again.

I’ve tested full trim in level flight in normal/sport mode and I’m seeing 59/60 kts at 4230 rpm near sea level (not as near as my last test, I’m not as sharp today). It’s better than it was, but still not near the 69/70 knts I’d like to see - and which I can get in Track mode, but that would just mean flying everyhere at 105 ft, which is a very dull way to fly. Yes, you can now hold seventy knots in level flight in normal/sport mode with gentle forward pressure on the stick - but even gentle pressure gets old after a remarkably short period of time.

I do like the new autolanding feature.

[WRONG]
On the other hand (the greedy, outstretched one) it would be better if there were some improvement to the movement generated by moving the stick in hover mode.

At the moment if you move the stick in hover mode the response you get is ‘nothing nothing nothing fartooomuch!’

A gentle drift in the direction of your stick movement (but no more, to prevent Hover mode bcoming a means of travel) would be a great aid to precise landings.
[ENDWRONG]

Edit: OK, belay that last part. You can get fairly precise movement by toggling off Hover mode, starting the drift in Track mode, then quickly toggling Hover mode back on.

1.0.3

  • Autoland working fine
  • Trim limit still not enough for max power :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Just having a WILD Time!

Still can’t quit you guys. Thought I didn’t need this, bought it anyway, was immediately zipping in between skyscrapers in downtown NYC…

My #1 update request would be Moar Speed please, for touring especially.
Want go mucho fasterer combined with slower paced + stop n’ hover exploration capability.

That’s the Astro TWO
…coming soon

(two = bring a friend for touring)

You mean like Samir? That would be too scary.

I’ll stick to F1astro thanks! :metal:

haha yeah I seen that before - so funny!
But maybe a tandem with “back seat driver” is not a good idea, you’re right. Unless you can have noise cancelling headphones and switch the passenger off

Yes, that would be the bee’s knees. :honeybee:

If not as part of the product, then perhaps as a mod uploaded to fs.to?

Really love this thing for exploration. Awesome fun.

I was compelled to read Dickens novels when I was at school - though for the life of me I can’t now remember which ones…

Anyway, I agree with Baracus that we need a second version of the Astro.

We should keep the current one with the performance as is: this is a simulator after all, and some nod to the Astro’s real-life Jetson inspiration is appropriate.

But it’s obvious that lot of people, myself included, would gravitate towards a faster version if one were available (as long as you wouldn’t have to hold the stick forward to go full speed!).

Well, it’s not unusual for aircraft in the sim to have multiple versions. Bung in an AstroTurbo capable of 100+ kts for them as wants it.

As for sightseeing, true story:

I have the Orbx Optica and genuinely used it as an observation aircraft; but found it tiresome to be constantly focussed on adjusting trim when I needed to be looking out of the aircraft. When I saw that the GotFriends version had an autopilot … instant purchase! (Also, it’s better all round and, though I hate having copilots in my aircraft, I do love Matto and Kilo.)

So some kind of Hover autothrottle function for Astro sightseers so they can focus on their sightseeing would be nice - Track mode will only take you so high.

The possibilities are endless…

How about a Touring version with “auto-orbit nearest POI” mode on a button hold

And a pure hi-speed racer, the Astro F-ONE as Sonic said  Ideal…
…could model battery temperature instead of time limited boost… you can push your luck, but might burst into flames!
