[RELEASED] C510 Mustang | Cockspur

Hello OldPond,

You would do better to visit the developers Discord server to make requests and if you require technical help in the future from them.

Cheers.

Charles.

Thanks so much to both of you for sharing more info and opinions! I bought the Mustang and took it on a first flight this evening! It will take me some time to get a feel for managing power, climb speeds, etc, but I think this will be a fun plane to learn.

Flew it some more. It’s starting to stay some of my criticisms, but man, interior and exterior textures need heavy improvement.

Which textures are you thinking of? My first impression was that the model detail was surprisingly good on both the interior and exterior. The leather texture on the seats in particular is impressive. It’s among the best leather texturing I’ve seen in any plane in the sim, including Carenado’s Seneca V (which has great texturing work).

The cabin windows have polygonal shapes instead of being perfectly round, but I spend very little time in the cabin. To me, the cockpit seems quite nice, and the exterior is better than I expected.

huh? did you delete your comment where you said you’re not buying this plane, on principal? I guess you changed your mind then. lol.

Yes I agree with you.
The window shades in the cabin look odd from a distance because there is an angled piece that acts as a handle. Pull them down to see what I mean. The cabiin detail is great as far as I’m concerned and like you I spend all my time on the flight deck anyway. I’m very impressed with the work that’s been done on this aircraft and it looks great, sounds great and flies exceptionally well
.

Found this, which looks quite useful - a guide to new pilots transitioning to the C510 at Aerocity Jets, written by the President of the airline, himself.

Thanks! This looks like a good resource. I also found an abbreviated flight planning guide, which contains basic performance charts for takeoff, cruise, and landing. This is much easier to use than the voluminous charts in the C510 AFM:

You’ve waited all this time for the marketplace release just to still be disappointed, now that sucks.
Ouch!

It’ seems to be different plane from the one I purchased

Thats very useful, thanks. Unfortunately the aircraft doesn’t seem to be very well modeled in respect of fuel use vs altitude. It uses 300 pph each side regardless of altitude on full power. That’s not the way a jet works. You could get the same range flying this thing at tree top level as you could at 41k. Am I missing something here?

I am still learning the details of flying this jet, but I’m also seeing similar fuel flows at varying cruising altitudes. From what I’ve seen on the Cockspur Discord, it sounds like the FADEC behavior is still a work in progress. I’m honestly not sure how detailed the developer is going to be in that regard. I’m pretty sure it could be modded with a working FADEC if the developer does not provide one.

hey guys, just getting back into MSFS after a long hiatus and saw this pretty jet is out now. However I’ve read some pretty negative initial reviews, so wanted to check in here and see everyone’s opinion now that it’s been out for a year and (I assume) has had several updates to fix its bugs.

What is the general opinion on this bird now? Do all of the main systems work as intended? What about things like VNAV autopilot descent? Thanks for any feedback!

It’s a great model (I don’t think VNAV is available though) but the flickering textures in the cockpit become too annoying to fly it more than once in a while.

flickering textures? is this an issue with everyone? if so then i’ll need to take a pass on this until it gets fixed unfortunately

The early version had some flickering textures, especially within the fonts. They are completely gone since the latest updates. I don’t have any flickering textures in the cockpit. The rear cabin has some polygones, that’s all. Nice bird, fun to fly.

ah, a conflicting report. glad to hear it’s working on your end.

Sorry but I’ve run v1.0.7 on two different PC’s and get the same flickering shadow textures in the cockpit on both. It’s annoying because the rate of climb and cruise speeds of the Mustang are up there with the airliners; it would be seriously addictive to me if it wasn’t for the flickering textures.

anyone got the bindings for the ignition switches? nothing seems to work here.
TURBINE ENGINE SWITCH SET in msfs controls only sets it to off for me if on but I cant turn it on
setting it up via spad.next (simconnect, lvar) doesnt do the trick either
