I have the permission of the YT channel owner to post these vids
Cool video but one thing looked extremely odd to me - fuel flow for the engine #2 seemed higher than for engine #1 throughout the entire flight, sometimes quite dramatically so, right up until the very end when the pilot went into afterburners.
I donāt know if thatās a preview copy but it seems like a lot of smoke for an aircraft that appears to be in afterburner.
Also the Watisham textures hasnāt been fixed. Itās a shame but guess this one isnāt for me, luckily itās not the only Phantom being developed for MS2020.
Luckily for the Dev you have decided its not for you.
Agree. Iāll be VERY happy with it.
Same here. DCs products and projects suit my needs perfectly. Im excited for its immanent addition to the marketplace.
Boresights vids have helped wet my appetite
The render distance on that smoke is annoyingly short but iām guessing thats a MSFS thing.
Iāve loved the Phantom since I was a pre-teenaged kid in the 70ās. Iāve been ready to buy one for MSFS since just about day 1. Itāll be a Day 1 purchase for me, preferably from Just Flight where Iāve gotten the rest of Dean and Jackās planes. My Phantoms will be in USN and USAF liveries, and sporting Sparrows, Sidewinders and gun pods as God and Jim McDonnell intended. ![]()
The engines in dual engine jets, especially old ones like the F4 usually have highly different hours on them, so they will have different needs in regards to fuel etc. Engines are pulled out of jets when they go into deeper level maintenance and will be used as spares for flying jets as required. so in a nutshell, more realistic than not. Also can be slight differences in position of split throttles.
Iām an aerospace engineer so I know that. I also STRONGLY doubt that aspect is emulated in the aircraft.
Rather, given that this is a pre-release product that Dean, Jack & friends have been working on for many months, it think it much more likely (a) the sim pilot accidentally split his throttles with a mis-click in the cockpit at some point and didnāt realize it; (b), if he has two physical throttles, one of them is slightly mis-calibrated compared to the other; or (c) most likely in my opinion, something in SU12 and/or AAU2 screwed up custom fuel system code in the plane. That latter has already happened at least once to a DC Designs aircraft (the SU that came out just after the Concorde totally demolished Jackās code and took a couple months to get straightened out again).
Chill out mate, you donāt have to yell āI KNOW BOATSā and stamp your feet. I was just pointing out some possibilities and provide an insight into engine management of multi engine jets.
No oneās stamping feet, mate, nor have I said one word about boats.
Rather, Iām pointing out that itās not generally good form to wade into a discussion assuming you know anything about the target of your comment.
You did mate, āIām an aerospace engineer so I know that.ā and I wasnāt targeting you either mate, you seem to have taken it a little personally. As I said I was just pointing out some possibilities and provide an insight into engine management of multi engine jets.
I didnāt take his response as being yelling at all. Seems youāre the one overreacting here.
Dean has confirmed on FB and Discord that the Phantoms will be released tomorrow with the weekly Marketplace update. JustFlight and any other outlets will follow in a week or two - apparently Marketplace sales are up to 95% of their volume these days. ![]()
Thatās great news!!! But I think Iāll wait. I appreciate the volume the Marketplace provides but I like to have a copy I can use without depending on the Marketplace issues I get with purchases.
If anyone gets this tomorrow please report back!!
Disappointing that itās going to MP first. Iāll wait for JF
It should release on both at same time
Dean specifically said yesterday on Discord that JF will lag the Marketplace. shrug
