Saw that the aircraft had a small update recently. Doesn’t anyone else get insane glass flickering in the non airshow varient? It’s pretty constant too.

I know this thread is a real antique, but after a long hiatus, I broke out the P-40N and took it for a spin. Noticed something very strange- no matter what I try, I cannot get the RPM to get below 1500. This is both when I spawn on the runway or start cold and dark. I have complete installs of both 2020 and 2024, and three throttle setups I can use- Saitek throttle quad, Thrustmaster Warthog, and Honeycomb Bravo. Tried both sims and all three hardware setups. Same same. Reached out to FR, they were very curious but were also stumped. It makes taxiing nearly impossible since, at that idle speed, she will try to nose over at the slightest tap of the brakes. This is the only airplane in my fairly large stable that I have experienced this with. I used to love flying this plane-Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

PS Version 1.6.0

I too have had the same experience with the Flight Replicas P-40N ever since the latest update. As you mention, the RPM only goes as low as 1,500, with the throttle closed, where as it should be down near 500 RPM with the throttle closed. Everything else about the update was fantastic, and I’ve been hoping there will be a fix for the idle RPM issue.

John,

Thank you so much for responding. I have spoken at length with support at FR; they were very friendly and professional, but they believe the problem is on my end. I know it is not.

Would you be willing to drop them an e-mail (they respond very quickly) briefly explaining the issue to them? If they know there are at least two of us, they may accept that there are probably many more. We may just get them to fix it!

Here is the link to reach them: support@flight-replicas.com

Thank you again!

Chris

Guys,

Flight Replicas came through with flying colors and have released an update which has fixed the high idle issue. Thanks Mike and the FR team for your great customer service and dedication to excellence!
