Fly2High has released White Plains Westchester Airport (KHPN) for MSFS 2024. I had some time to test it this evening, and overall they did an excellent job. The terminal, surrounding buildings, runway textures, and overall airport detail all appear very polished. I didn’t notice any major pop in, terrain issues, or other visual problems that we’ve seen with some previous products. So far, this looks like a very solid add on.
I’m hoping to complete a flight into the airport tomorrow, but tonight I spent most of my time exploring the scenery with the drone camera.
One issue I did come across, and I’m curious if anyone else can reproduce it, is a significant performance drop around the terminal at night. As soon as I moved into that area, GPU utilization jumped to 99% and performance dropped noticeably. I’ve already reported it on their Discord and they’ve logged a ticket, but I’d be interested to hear if anyone else is seeing the same behavior.
I’ve attached screenshots of the pictures they provide of the airport, Fly2High’s trailer, and a video demonstrating the issue of the terminal at night that I created (last video). Even with that concern, my first impression is that this is a very good product.
