Released: Fly2High Tulsa KTUL (MSFS & FS2024)

Would the RFSB version be better? They published theirs a week earlier then F2H?

Not if you’re using FS2024.

It looks better then RFSB’s usual rubbish but I think it’s fair to say they typically make F2H look good!

The sad part is the 2020 version actually isn’t bad from F2H. It’s the 2024 version that’s complete junk.

Dang, I wish I had read this before I purchased it today. It clobbered performance on my Xbox X so bad that the freezing remains even after ending the flight and returning to the menus.

This makes me suspect some sort of memory leak that isn’t getting freed up. I flew the drone around after landing and the tower, which showed up briefly during my approach, had disappeared and never came back.

A waste of money at this point and must be disabled. Hopefully they fix it at some point.

Yeah, I wish we had a better way to get the word out to folks. Their stuff works fine in 2020, but they seem to be completely incapable of developing for 2024 without serious issues. What’s more frustrating is their lack of actually fixing things… 2 major updates for this product and nothing really shows. They seem to be non-existent anymore on their facebook when you bring this up too. It’s a shame… wasted money on my end too, but don’t feel bad because even my high end PC 13900k, 64GB RAM, 4090) struggles to run this dumpster fire.

Did you buy from the MSFS 2024 Marketplace? If so, which one did you buy? There’s two in the marketplace for 2024- one is full price at $19.99 USD and one is on sale for 45% off and is $10.99 USD.

I bought the $19.95 one

Been debating giving the $10.99 one a shot on MSFS 2024…

You’ll regret it. I’m telling you, the KTUL for 2024 from F2H is terrible.

with v2.0.0 released on 27th Dec, is performance any better, as claimed? Includes other QoL fixes too, apparently.

The stutters are less; however, the scenery is still very subpar in my opinion. The pop-ins are absolutely terrible as seen in my video here with the latest update. Maybe it’s just me, but the Fly2High banner above the gates is very cheesy and unnecessary…

Their facebook interactions are limited… they don’t reply to their email support… and each update has been mediocre at best. As I’ve said before, this will be my last F2H purchase.

Yes, my experience is similar. KBHM looks nice but Fly2 seem to be the masters of disguising bad workmanship in their promo material…

Will they ever get better or are we destined to suffer the same flaws eternally?

Who’s going to volunteer to find out? :slightly_smiling_face:

What’s comical is I just loaded up inibuilds LAX and went out miles in drone mode and all the buildings were there. Not sure why FL2 decided to drop their distance so much but it’s annoying when you’re on short final or have already touched down on the runway and to see every large building just pop in….

I bought Tulsa from the Orbx Store a few days ago. However, version 2 for 2024 isn’t available there yet. I actually like many aspects of the airport, especially for a sale price. But yes, the Fly2High advertisement above the jetways was unnecessary. And the 2024 version definitely has LOD issues, no question about it. In version 1.6.5, the jetways disappear completely at a certain distance, and as mentioned above, some buildings do too. I don’t know if this has been fixed in version 2. However, you can work around the LOD problem by using the 2020 version in MSFS 2024. Of course, this only works if you still have MSFS 2020 installed, otherwise you cannot install the 2020 version and move it to the 2024 community folder. Visually, I couldn’t see any major differences between the 2020 and 2024 versions. Only the ground textures look a little better. But the 2020 version has no performance or LOD issues.

Overall, I like the modelling of the scenery. If the performance, some terrain and LOD distance issues can be resolved in the 2024 version, I can recommend the airport. However, an update for 2024 is urgently needed. I am curious to see if version 2 helps. Apparently, version 2 has only been released on Flightsim.to so far.

Edit: Incidentally, the parked cars in the original version of Fly2High are the standard Asobo cars, which are of poor quality. I have installed the Pyreegue cars, so please bear this in mind when looking at the pictures.

I do like Fly2’s ‘gritty’ textures (they remind me of Marcus Nyberg’s) but they seem to be stuck in a cycle of never actually improving the aspects of their scenery that need improving. I saw real potential in their work two years ago but they’re still at the same place in 2026.

I think that the quality of the textures and the land side has definitely improved in the newer releases. In earlier sceneries, for example, building textures were much too low in resolution. But yes, the biggest weakness is still a clear sloppiness in implementation and poor quality control. For example, in several F2H sceneries, I have the problem that jetways have gaps when they are fully extended. And a LOD problem like in the 2024 version of Tulsa definitely needs to be noticed before a release. It’s very strange when jetways disappear completely at a distance of perhaps 300 metres.

iniManger thankfully has the v2 update on there for 2024 users.

Can you let is know how it is, please? It’s an airport I’d like if it surpasses Fly2’s previous standards (plus is might set the precedent for the imminent KBHM).

Sure enough, you’re right. The 2020 version doesn’t have the LOD issues that we are seeing on the 2024 version. Go figure.
