Two wishes. Please add the perfomance tabels to the EFB.
At other G1000 planes, there is a short audio “bing” when 1000ft are left to reach the selected altitude. It would nice to ghve it.
Performance tables and checklists on the EFB would be fantastic
Real world pilots wanted me to put even more complex failures, I had to hold off those as i was worried we would end up with too much complications for users on day one.
Just look at our release day and data, i recon about 600 generators alone were burned on the firs hour..
Now people has understood the level of deep failures i code in my airplanes, we can step it up next.. so brace for impact for the next.
Regarding additional checklist on EFB, is not planned, we have msfs checklists, and manual checklist, enough of them already and regarding the EFB performance tables not planned either i want people to get used to read the POH, is what helps both of us (me as dev and you as user) to avoid spending time resolving issues that are explained there, specially with the next level of failures that will come to the PT6 engine and other components..
Basically, these real pilots want to use FSR500 for training..

See above about EFB, some of these sounds got lose at some point in G1000nxi, I am planning to do some custom sounds for it as part of a big update.
Best,
Raul
Applauding the approach here regarding EFB. While nice to have, keeping it simple also works. Too much EFB just increases workload and problems in MSFS. With so much going on in the sim, I offload as much as possible to iPad: my own checklists, Navigraph charts (nicer if SimLink is available), POH, etc. This both expands my cockpit/flight deck and reduces load on the sim, freeing up system resources for flying.
The trend to more and more EFB complexity is worrisome and unnecessary except for those who may be using VR (not me). Just take a look at what PMDG is struggling with in MSFS compared to the 787-10 EFB implementation: rudimentary but it solves a problem and plays nice with SimBrief to an extent, albeit incompletely so, but it is here today and does not crash the sim! I as an Xbox user am still waiting for EFB to come to the 737, but I am not really missing it either!
It’s the same with textures. Demands for ever higher fidelity textures and criticism when everything isn’t 4K just places ever greater demand on the SIM, pressure on Devs and the end result is that it interferes with the base requirement: a smooth flying experience.
The cockpit interior yes - as that’s the thing most folk spend most time seeing. But wheel wells, or engine compartments ? Not if it means stutters. Even the exterior model need not be 4K unless you do most of your flying outside the cockpit on a 4K monitor with a PC powerful enough to render 4K in high/ultra.
Looking forward to it.
How do you know this? Are you having telemetry being sent to you, and if so do your inform you customers of this? Some might be keen to opt out of that.
probably the amount of support tickets they got
Lol join my discord server and watch the channel on the history chat on release date.
Every 5 minutes someone asked why my starter doesnt run anymore, why my engine doesnt start, etc. And this was just on discord…
This morning just answered that question again via email..
There is a reason why Alpine made this tutorial video: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/AYVMcV-Qjvc
The funny thing is, I gave people the choice to enable these failures, was not inposed, the welcome wizard was there for a reason, result? Engines and generators blowing up all over. Now i hope the user based has an understanding of FSReborn failures, so for future products they really pay attention to tutorials and my on boarding procedures Best,
Raul
It happened to me too. I installed the aircraft and went straight to the “Fly” button - no welcome screen.
I should have installed the aircraft, rebooted the sim, and THEN flown the FSR500.
This is what I am personally really wanting in an addon.
I love it when the plane drops from the sky or the engine breaks down because I am not following correct procedures. It’s a great learning experience for me, adds a lot more immersion and makes me fly the AC much more carefully and with more respect.
Bring it on
I’ve been flying since 1979.. brief stint as a CFI, and still teach/tutor instrument ground school (age/health have me almost grounded). The term, “study level” gets thrown around a lot. To me, it should mean, not only system depth, but accurate systems, and accurate performance too. I don’t fly jet liners (but I’ll surely get your 727)… so I cannot speak to what is out there. But for GA.. there are two airplanes that qualify as “study level”…the A2A Comanche, and your FSR500. Many come close.. but there is a threshold (mainly being able to demonstrate the importance of Vspeeds), that they don’t quite meet. Having the engine .. performance/parameters/fuel-consumption.. all fall into place along with accurate flight-model, and “system depth”… it’s just amazing !
Wow, yeah RTFM doesn’t work. At work we released a new IT security policy to everyone. Part way though that document there was a section that explained you should put a cross through the circle at the end of the document. About 10% of people did that, but they all signed it anyway.
A few people got really upset about that, not liking being caught out like that. It was hard to be apologetic to someone not bothering to read something they signed.
Hehe, well i hate that expression to be honest, RT***.. i try to make people reading it via different methods, instead of telling them that, also since i understand not everyone likes reading we did 5 videos tutorials.
So, no excuses, you can watch the videos as well lol.
I am just very happy now with peoples reactions, they understand now when FSRerborn says, we have failures modelled is not a joke, it means the real thing..
Next product release they will for sure be more careful

Don’t kid yourself lol
What I really appreciate is realistic failure results which is something I know Raul is keen on as well. Seems like a lot of sim aircraft only treat a failure as the CB popping and the system/component no longer working. That is NOT typically how failures are encountered in my experience. So I’m glad that Raul said in one of the live streams that he will only include a failure if he can make the results realistic.
Hey a man can dream
Ok, WOW! I finally felt I had read enough of the manual (enough times LOL) to be able to configure my hardware and put up a flight. Wow, just wow. We all like shiny new things but this is now my new GA favorite and likely to stay that way until some BS or CTD catches up with me (Series X here). Took it from cold and dark at KSWF to KABE via STW and dialed in the ILS 24 enroute to fly a coupled approach on a nice day (live weather off, no traffic). While these airports would not challenge most models, this flight went super smooth both on A/P and when hand flying. The beta range implementation will take a while to get used to, but I got it to work exactly as described in the manual (after reading that page about a dozen time LOL). Was easier to set-up in the sim than to read without actually having the settings open!
I started with all the difficult stuff turned off so I could test fly my hardware set-up and used the auto-complete checklists extensively, a little cumbersome but all disasters were prevented (except cabin temp but no pax onboard despite the admonishments)! Next flights I will start in SimBrief and do the Navigraph thing, which I expect will be a non-event. The wife is visiting her sisters this weekend so I suspect there will be a lot of flying in the FRS500! It will be interesting to see which add-on airports I can get away with, but I have a good idea of which ones challenge the box most, so will take it up step-wise to see how resources are challenged. Wish me luck, it will be FUN!
KABE-KBTV, night VFR, live weather and Navigraph charts running a SimBrief imported flight plan: flawless right down to the runway on the RNAV GPS 15 approach. Ok, a bit squirrely in some crosswinds, but hey, it’s MSFS and I kept it on the runway (no pesky passengers to hurl their snack at me)! No perceptible lag at any point that affected my ability to pull off the flight on Series X, but these are not brain drain add-on airports either.
The longish flight gave me time to poke through the POH and cruise tables (started out with a 1,000 lbs/ft torque cruise setting in SimBrief at 17,500 but probably might have planned for a bit higher). Saw TAS in the range of 230-240 kts, 1,000-1,240 torque, and with a nice little tail wind put her on the blocks just a minute late. Kept the POH open on the MBP, Navigraph open on the iPad and on the EFB too, which was helpful seeing TOC on a chart. Please consider adding SimLink to the wish list, although strictly a nice to have for me, not a need to have with this EFB. Time for dinner and a celebratory cocktail at the airport bar. Cheers folks!
