Can’t say I’m keen on this being Marketplace only, especially with the time it takes for updates to become available. Less of an issue with scenery, but new aircraft releases often have bugs, so for that reason I’ll probably wait and see what the consensus is, or for any bugs to be squashed before purchasing.

No, how did you get that impression? No mention of a release date for the SF50 has been mentioned.
Asobo’s new local legend, the S.55 is also due out today. I doubt Asobo would release two aircraft on the same day.

This may work for Steam customers, but not all of us are Steam.

I have no issue buying from the Market Place, although if I have a choice then I usually buy from the vendor directly, just because updates come through quicker…although in reality it could end up you are going to a dozen different places to update content and it is more work.
I really do not see any over riding reason to restrict yourself to purchases from one source or another.
I see here mention of vendors like Aerosoft who don’t seem to be pushing updates as often as people like…I can assure you, it doesn’t matter where a vendor is deciding to sell their product. That’s down to a vendors philosophy, not where they are wishing to sell.
Wait so no release today?
I don’t like the MP for the reasons stated many times by myself months ago and by others in more recent posts above.
However I do understand why some devs. prefer to sell there and empathise with them on their decision making process.
As an exception to my ‘rule’ never to buy from the MP I actually bought the Sting S4 there and will probably buy the Hjet there tonight. The S4 is a great product and I’m thinking the Hjet will be too (based on Fabios and Marwan’s stream last night). The prices are great too and I’m of a mind to reward these devs. for their enthusiasm and hard work.
Crossing my fingers and toes a bit though …
