[RELEASED] IniBuilds Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun

Which P-40? There are three of them… Big Radials P-40B, iniBuilds P-40F, and Flight Replicas P-40N.

Since he said “their P-40,” I assume he means the IniBuilds P-40F.

This was was actually a major improvement. I’m impressed! Definitely keeping this.

I also noticed that aileron trim works now. With this mod and the ability to trim away the constant left bank, I’m more or less happy. Nice.

did you also address the ground steering issues?

iniBuilds P40. I feel like I need to prepare my approach very far from the airport if I’m to be able to slow her down in time. This Taifun feels exactly the same in that regard. Descending @ 300ft/m with anything less than 30 flaps, gear down, and idle, and she won’t slow down at all. Maybe that’s correct behaviour but it just seems suspicious that the only 2 planes where I find slowing an issue are both from iniBuilds.

I decided to watch a couple of reviews on YouTube and I noticed the reviewers had the same issue, and would need to forward slip on final to keep the speed down.

On the plus side, I think she looks quite pretty in an old school way, and I really like how she sounds. But I’m not overly impressed with how she flies. It’s difficult though, as I’ve never flown a real plane so I can only go off years of flightsim experience. I know they say their planes use CFD so it can feel different to what we might be used to, but so does the Asobo C172 G1000 and that feels lovely to fly.

Anyone know the flap speed limits? Nothing in the manual. Struggling to find any info online.

It is, 185 km/h.

Is that 185km/h for any flap setting?

I havent original manual but see this. Full flaps 115 km/h https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1808/9017/files/nord-1002pingouinII-pilot-notes-first-edition.doc flight characteristic is the same in Taifun. IThink drag with flaps in the model are better now (1.0.1) but not the same like in real. Taifun has second name - fly fast, land slow.

slowly slowly
