I hope CelloCellinsky’s flight model tweak will survive this update, or indeed be updated itself.
so is the addition of the a/p supposed to be a gag or something? i can get the yaw damper to light up when i click it but none of the other a/p buttons work. probably some kind of conflict on my system?
edit: the turn indicator is stuck tilting all the way to the left as well
Xbox Markplace update when its coming? Take my money…..
Skin is out: https://flightsim.to/file/52189/bf-108-taifun-international-circuit-of-the-oasis-race-d-ibmy .
Have you considered making non-swastika versions of these as well?
They would obviously not be historical, but I have this problem now of really liking your liveries but kinda hating the fact that I fly around with that thing on my tail.
I’ve seen examples of the swastika being swapped for the Messerscmitt logo. That looks pretty neat, I think!
I understand, but unfortunately not. My guess is “do it right or not at all”. I only deal with historical repaintings, these are my rules. Therefore, interference with elements is out of the question. However, if someone wants to do something with it for themselves, they can redo the texture. I understand that this may be disgusting to some, but there is no ideology behind it. It’s a bit like asking now whether to paint Soviet stars or the letter “Z” which is synonymous with the swastika for me. I’m not going to paint this because it evokes too much emotion in me. However, with good news, I intend to do something else, also for other countries. Probably the next one will be Czech skin, so no black crosses
.
That is fair enough.
I totally understand you. Distorting history just because I don’t like it, is nonsense. I also have a problem with swastikas as well as red stars at the moment. They evoke many memories in me, even on a personal level. It cannot be forgotten! Just as these things cannot be erased from memory, they cannot be erased from millions of photographs. There is nothing to celebrate in these dark pages of human history. On the other hand, I can’t imagine anyone covering up these symbols in any movie that shows that time. It was just the way it was, there is no point in lying and covering your eyes.
The real problem is the people who actually confess to the ideology that these symbols represent.
And as for the Czech version, I will be really happy for it.
TY. I come from Poland, so I really know the history of German Nazi and the consequences of it during WWII very well. Who if not me? But that’s a slightly different topic. Even under the law, there are two cases, whether it serves historical truth or propaganda and ideology. The second thing is forbidden, it is known and it’s obvious, but the historical truth is something else if it’s not followed by the propagation and glorification of this ideology. Imagine all these models kit, drawings, posters, paintings, books, films, uniforms, weapons, even exhibits in museums etc. with blurred symbols? Of course, this may be disgusting to some. I understand that too. It may still evoke strong emotions, but well, that’s my approach as a modeler of models kit also.I do not present or glorify this ideology, I condemn it. Instead, I show the plane as it was, as best as I can. That’s all.
Hi,
First of all: I also prefer the liveries of German WW2 planes to be authentic with swastika. That doesn’t automatically mean that I condone the Nazi Regime.
On the one hand it is simply a symbol that has been appropriated by the Nazis: go through a Buddhist temple in India and you will see a lot of them, or several Air Forces before the war (most notably Finland) also used the Swastika as a roundel.
On the other I believe there’s no actual reason to shun a historic symbol. History is full of symbols that represented evil at one time or the other.
Contrary to Poland, here in Germany it’s actually illegal to use the swastika in any way but for educational purposes, or in a strictly historic context.
So I can understand if people are uncomfortable with the swastika and would like to get rid of it. The most common German solution to the problem is using a redacted symbol looking like this:
if @rafikst agrees I’d be happy to provide a changed version of the texture file and upload it seperately to flightsim.to
Yes I know this solution. Its present also in DCS or IL-2.
As I wrote earlier, if someone wants to do it for themselves, if someone cares a lot, let them do it, no problem. Worse with posting somewhere which I unfortunately cannot agree. So I have a proposal. I can add it as an alternative download file simply myself on flightsim.to (there is such an option), of course mentioning the author in the description. I prefer everything to be together if someone wants to publish something. I can share png files for example for this. Just a small note, contrary to appearances, it is not easy to paint the Bf-108 from iniBuilds because they used a different method here. The markings are the second layer, although I’ve worked around it and I did it in different way. They also have a lot of small elements in various places, and the markings should be placed at an angle so that they are straight in the final image. Just 2 cents :).
Btw. I noticed strange thing in 1.0.2. - I did long flight, about 1,5h. I fly with classic cockpit only. But during the flight I lost control of the plane 3 times. I didn’t know what happened. My ailerons were fully deflected and the plane hardly reacted to the controls. I opened a tablet, activated AP to see it … it was “ON”. When I had it turned off, everything was back to normal and I was able to control the plane again. The problem though was that it happened 3 times, and I’m on classic cockpit after all and I don’t want any autopilot. This looks like some kind of conflict. I checked on HOTAS if I don’t have anything assigned to autopilot on/off which I accidentally press, but I don’t have anything related to autopilot. ![]()
Looks like an issue however I’ll check it Today again.
The plane is great. Good 3D modeling, with high quality details. Challenging at some points in the flight, but very enjoyable to fly.
Great job!.
In addition to some of the things that have been discussed in this thread, I would like to comment on some things that I have observed in a group flight that I did yesterday with a friend, both with the Taifun.
I have observed that even though the wings are retracted and the plane completely turned off, you can still see some points of light suspended in the air, just where the wings would be once they were unfolded.
Also, despite being in folded mode, the flaps continue to work. Something a bit strange.
On the other hand, we have observed visual synchronization problems of some elements in multiplayer. There are a lot of animations and elements that don’t show up to the other player, if you don’t do them in your own plane and things like that, which really breaks the immersion when you’re flying in a group.
I know that there are several problems and limitations regarding the display of elements in multiplayer in MSFS, although I have also seen that some of them have been solved in other planes, so I wanted to know if you are working on solutions regarding this issue in future updates .
Finally, I would like to provide feedback on a suggestion for improvement in the EFB.
It would be great to have shortcut icons to the different option screens, without having to press the house icon to go to the main screen first.
I’m not talking about removing the icon (or the main screen), but perhaps you could take advantage of the top bar of the EFB (where the battery and time icon is) to add icons with access to the different sections, without having to return to the main screen, which is faster and more practical.
This has been a long-standing issue in the sim. You would only see you pal’s door open if you opened your own etc. I don’t think Asobo has gotten around to fix by now, but at least the gears seem to work correctly.
Anyone else find this plane a real handful on take off and landing? Seems very squirrelly. She’s very enjoyable once in flight though, and imo, quite pretty, especially in the white liveries.
Yes indeed. There’s been a lot of talk about that farther up in the thread. There’s also a mod for the flight model.
Ah ok. I’ll have to try the mod out. I’d fly her a lot more if she wasn’t such a handful on the ground.
So I decided to give this bird some proper practice today. No mods. I found if I’m really really gentle on the rudder, and give her a bit of right aileron on take off, then I can keep her steady and straight. I actually quite like the challenge now I’ve sussed it.
With landing I find I need to let her rollout longer before applying brakes or any tailwheel adjustments.
I still think she’s way too slippy tho. Maybe that’s what they were like? But it means you really have to plan far ahead. Slow down well before even entering the pattern, which means you gotta prepare far from the airport. I’m not used to that as most GA planes can slow down quickly and fly a short pattern.
Also do not forget that IRL it takes about 32 sec to retract/down her landing gears
This one is now 13 usd/eur on the marketplace. That’s quite a bit cheaper then on the Inistore. Is it worth it?
