Been a while since iniBuilds released a US airport — I think Providence was the last? Anyway, a much-needed airport, to replace the ageing LVFR version.
Don’t all msfs 2024 native airports have that? I’ve been having a lot of jetway issues with ini scenery lately after they started rolling out multi jetway. Even at gates with single jetways so I’m reluctant to buy more scenery from them until they sort this out.
I don’t use FS2024, at least for now, but I was just pointing at the mistaken spelling in the trailer: Light Nighting instead of Night Lighting.
Ahh sorry ![]()
I s’pose ‘light-nighting’ is pretty similar… ![]()
The Synaptic A220-300 in the Breeze livery is well suited for KMSY ops!
PracticallyGeek is currently live, previewing the airport; so release must be imminent (ini usually release at a weekend but I suspect this one might be sooner).
LondonController was previewing it this morning U.S. time. I’m guessing a Thursday release but who knows.
Just released.
Did you notice that every picture on the product page where you can see the apron has wet ground but no rain. I find this so stupid actually, cheap trick. Just make it looks good in the dry as well.
And, in my opinion, the apron is Inibuilds’ weak point. The ground textures don’t actually look bad, but they’re not as good as those from other top developers. In a way, they always look very similar and less authentic.
I’ve noticed the same. One dev who has surprisingly done amazing ground textures is Fly2High. Their HPN and HOU ground textures looked amazing (no wet ground needed ![]()

Orbx’s KATL has some of the best ground textures. +1 for Fly2’s latest work, too. iniBuilds’ are odd — they’re not bad, per se, but they do look oddly sterile.
Flightbeam and Flytampa are also brilliant in this respect. MK Studios is getting better and better. When it comes to the immersion of an airport, I think ground textures are a bit underrated. Authentic ground and building textures, combined with custom GSE, are half the battle when it comes to a great looking scenery. I also appreciate well-designed interiors and landside areas. But for me, these two aspects are more like the icing on the cake. I really like Flightbeam’s KMSP, for example, even though you can pretty much forget about the landside and the interior. On the other hand, I’m less keen on M’M Simulation’s sceneries because the apron usually looks too sterile.
All ini scenery look similar to me in the textures department. It’s like they have one set of materials, textures, tinted glass…etc that they just recycle scenery after scenery. I also wish they fixed their existing scenery instead of cranking out airport after airport. The pink textures at DFW are one annoying example:
Yes, I agree. A lot of the immersion at KATL comes from the ground, which we arguably spend more time in close proximity to than any other part of an airport.
iniBuilds’ ground textures are often accurate, when viewed from above (KMSY’s certainly are), but at ground level, there’s just something about them that gives off too clean an impression. Still, they’ve pretty much nailed every other department so I’m happy. KORD is impressive, when viewed as a complete package.
I’ve just watched the video by Practical Geek. I don’t like that the old terminal doesn’t have an (light) interior or even windows with a parallax effect (Even though the old terminal is no longer in use). KORD is much larger, and without exception, all the terminals there have an interior. Some other parts of the scenery don’t look very detailed either. This scenery feels a bit rushed to me. I was sure I’d be buying New Orleans on day one. But now I’m waiting for a sale. In my opinion, this scenery is a step backwards for Inibuilds.
