This aircraft is fantastic for doing radio nav with. It’s growing on me for this purpose just as the Warrior & Arrow Turbo did. I’m now just taking off with no flight plan, no GPS & following VOR’s and intercepting radials and then ILS. I really like the NAV 1 NAV 2 display on the DBI with 2 DME’s shown. You can effectively display angles to/from both VOR’s and distance to/from both on same instrument (assuming they have a DME signal). One counting up and one counting down. Very nice!
It took me a while to suss out that NAV 2 frequency tuning dial was waaay over to the right on the co-pilot side in case you haven’t found it yet, and no it’s not an LED display.
I still haven’t figured out how to display an NDB/ADF signal yet, it’s meant to go on same DBI I think, but unsure how to activate it on the ADF panel on the centre console between the seats. It’s hard to read the dials at such a low down angle. Will go delve into the manual again.
EDIT: I was able to get the ADF to display on the DBI showing NDB direction. NOTE: The ADF panel is differently located compared to the training video as the late fitted WT FMC takes up space that it wasn’t doing at time of when training video was made.
The cockpit lighting is nice too. Just turned it on for the first time.
