rgr, will make it more towards the corner of the tablet to avoid issues
Does the CH-47 have landing lights? I canât find a switch in the cockpit and thought I saw them hanging below the nose but perhaps those are searchlights?
Technically no landing lights but âsearch lightsâ used as landing lights as well. Two switches on the overhead, one for the pilot one for the copilot
Is there a key binding for those search/landing lights. The landing light key binding does not seem to work for them.
Thereâs 2 switches too (co-pilot/pilot), and their functionality currently seems bugged. Turn on the co-pilot light and it turns on, turn it off and it stays on until you toggle the Pilot side searchlight switch which toggles the pilot searchlight but then turns of the co-pilot one. Not found a keybind for either yet.
Also try turning on the pilot side search light, then try to turn on the copilot side searchlight, it wonât turn on fully, and just has a faint glow in itâs center. Weird.
No keybinding at the moment but will be supported shortly
We are aware of this and will be fixed in the upcoming V1.0.1 update, releasing in a day or two.
Great, thank you.
Also, the Co-pilot side searchlight switch says RET/ON instead of OFF/ON like the pilotâs side switch does. The light doesnât look retractable so what does RET mean? or should it really say OFF?
Retract perhaps?
Some CH47s are fitted with retractable lights. We have modeled them fixed, will correct the overhead decal.
Iâm not a huge fan of pixel peeping on aircraft, but Iâve found a few daylight gaps between exterior panels. Some have blacked out gaps which is presumably how they are meant to look, but quite a few have daylight showing through them.
Also noticed a small triangular black figment on the exterior pilot side about half way down fuselage.
Air gaps between panels-
This one is a huge gap that also doesnât align with panel it attaches to.
Triangular black anomaly
Iâll take a look at those details, but in reality, youâll never get this close to the fuselage and as such these are not noticeable under normal circumstances. This isnât a model for âcloseup observationâ as otherwise the polycount would be lot higher.
This gap is between the fuselage and cockpit emergency door.
Agree, and I donât normally look at things this close, but Iâm sure someone else will. Iâve seen the threads on stuff like this on here. There are pixel peepers about!
Aside from the refinements that are sure to come⊠This is the most versatile helicopter for touring and activities (in MSFS), and itâs ready for maritime operations already. I had to explore water landings after watching a US Army training video. This thing can land everywhere
Had to check: Even works with Damage Enabled
Thanks everyone for the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have been getting in the past couple of days.
No product launch is perfect (especially with such a complex project with this many âpiecesâ). We are working hard to fix those initial set of bugs reported - as mentioned above, an update will be released in the next day or two. As usual, release notes are available here: https://miltechsimulations.talkyard.net/âŠ/miltechâŠ
In the meantime, our friends at AviationLads have created a great trailer video for us - go watch it now on Youtube!
Loving this bird! Looking forward to RCAF yellow search and rescue livery.
Question - The oil gauges incl temperature never stay in the green. An I doing something wrong?
Can you make a short summarization here for those of us that donât speak German but would appreciate your opinion?
Quick disclaimer that these are my own opinions.
I had a really enjoyable first trip in the CH47D on my livestream yesterday. Very stable to fly, love the included sceneries and dynamic cargo. Still feel like the sound could use some improvement as I didnât get much of a sense of the famous âwokka wokkaâ Chinook sound, which is so distinctive. I loved the weathering effect on the MIP and the overhead panel, but then all of the switches on the overhead looked identical and brand new, which really stood out like a saw thumb. Iâd also love to see the click spots for toggle switches edited, as the arrows point left and right for switches that go up and downâŠvery confusing at times! By far the most stable heli Iâm yet to fly in MSFS, and was good fun to transition into and out of a hover.
Looking forward to seeing more updates from the Miltech team!
Agree re switches and legacy mode direction hint arrows. I use the mouse (and mouse scroll wheel) to move them and other levers and they are mapped 180 from what Iâm used to on other a/c. eg. I scrolled mouse wheel to move the OHP lever from IDLE â FLT and ended up setting it to cutoff instead.
Not a biggie though. Yes also many of the rotation dials in OHP also have the exact same wear and tear markings. All in all though loving it and look forward to the imminent update. I see there are quiet a few sound tweaks being rolled out in v1.01.
