[RELEASED] Miltech Simulations CH47D

@LikedHare478430 Also noticed big performance drops when switching from the cockpit to the external camera for 5-10 seconds and also whilst flying past in the showcase camera the helicopter stutters a lot

  • very good addon overall
  • still has a few bugs/quirks, but they already working on a hotfix patch
  • full potential of the flightmodell will be available with SU15, but it is already great joy to fly (altough I cannot judge the realism of the flightmodel, cause I am no pilot
  • picking up cargo is fun but still a little bit challenging
  • included scenerys are good and increase the immersion if used (at least for me)

Next update ( V1.0.1 - releasing in a few hours) adds some improvements there, with a better bass mix. Keep in mind that the internal transmission whining on the real CH47 is so loud that the “wokka wokka” isn’t the main thing you hear - its a lot more noticeable from the exterior: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/Ito7OPhcabU

Noted! This has been reported a few times, working on it.

This is likely due to the downwash effects, which has been fixed on v1.0.1

Would it be possible to add the option of showing a Co pilot at some point
maybe controlled via the EFB (as I know some people may not want this!)
as these helicopters- at least in the UK, are not flown single pilot!

We gotta create higher resolution character models for this - but it may be a possibility in the future.

Since we don’t have a spotter

How about a page on the tablet for the fire fighting missions that has target circles like the load page.
You can’t see if you are on target for the drop from the cockpit and you need to be pretty much hovering to trigger the bucket release.

Great job so far! Even with the minor launch bugs and issues, I’m having a blast with the Hook!

Not a bad idea, noted. We plan to expand on the firefighting capabilites - but then we don’t really know what will be supported on FS2024 so don’t want to waste time building something that may be obsolete in a few months. But we can definitely expand the current capacities a little.

Yes, you can always identify a Chinook pilot on the radio scanner, just by all of the transmission whine in the background!

That’s what I’ve heard! A noisy one

It would be awesome if you could add a headphone button/simulation (like the Comanche has) to reduce overall treble because the noise does get irritating after a while and a real Chinook pilot would wear headphones.

The deeper base audio of the main rotor blades really makes flying this addon even more enjoyable for me. It now does fly straight (depending on winds), and the cyclic trim is truly manageable. Like everyone else said, this addon is quickly maturing and meeting or exceeding expectations (well, at least mine).

This addon has me doing things that I never thought I’d enjoy doing in MSFS.

You can use the Headphone Simulation on the MSFS Audio Settings to enable just that!

Would it be possible, to make 1 or 2 of the Ramps in the Military Outpost normal ramps for Cold & Dark starts? Or Add an option in the EFB to set the Cold & Dark State?

Cheers

Will do, forgot that Helipads don’t allow for C&D Start. I’ll add a couple of spots.

my hat is permanently off to all those who undertake to bring aircraft to the sim world. I don’t know how you have the fortitude or the resolve to deal with all that comes with that - but I am so grateful that you do.
Carry on then
