[RELEASED] Miltech Simulations MH-60, in Partnership with Blackbird!

Apologies - most likely those people read it from there then. The wording and description of the problem is nearly identical to the comment on that site, and that’s the only time we’ve seen mention of it

Love the helicopter, keep up the good job. Any chance the Navigation Systems part of documentation can be expanded? Specificly section Aircraft and Systems > Navigation Systems > [2] Flying Flight Plans. Is there an option to have the HSI show deviation from the flight plan? I understand that the autopilot is not supposed to automatically follow flight plans, I’m just wondering if there’s an option to make following them easier. Also would love learn more on entering TACAN frequencies and switching X/Y modes, sadly didn’t get those working either.

There is currently no HSI mode (no deviation) for flight plans. The route will display on the map on the PD provided that MAP Mode is selected Primary Display Overview | Miltech Simulations MH60 | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

Regarding TACAN, we are doing some revisions to the system on the next update, hence why that section of the manual is currently incomplete.

Hey there, any plans/updates on bringing the MH-60 to PS5 please (unless I’m missing it - can’t see it in the marketplace)? The one and only aircraft I want!!

Cheers

I’m getting poor performance on graphics while flying the MH60 on the latest build [1.6.33.0] of SU4 on Xbox series X. Don’t have an FPS counter or anything on Xbox, but hopefully the video depicts the less than fluid graphics outside the window.

I initially streaking the bird, but decided to download it locally to see if it made any difference, and it did not. After this flight I switched to Taog’s H500C and flew around and everything was buttery smooth again.

I dont know how to describe it. Inside the cockpit seems smooth, but the scenery outside the window is very stuttery. Not getting this with other aircraft I have tried.

[Edit: not sure if what I’m talking about is perceivable with the video. Maybe I need to add another video with the H500C. Wish I could make a video of a side to side comparison. The outside the window graphics are very noticeably slower and more jittery while flying the MH-60 to me though.]

I know the mh60 is a heavier add-on compared to the 500c as for me the 500c is always a good time while the mh60 can have multiple reloads happen with scenery around it

Yeah, I saw you so I jumped in the MH-60 to come hang out. Still sitting on the tarmac there, had to put the kiddo to bed.

I’m loving the H500C, and it’s also got me wanting to fly some of the other birds. The MH-60 is fun too, but I can tell it slugs the FPS. I hadn’t noticed it before, but I also haven’t flown it in probably a month or so.

No marketplace available on PS5 at this time (nor a timeline on when that may happen) - but obviously it is on our best interest to bring MH60 to PS5 as soon as possible.

I’ll take a look on my side. MH60 has complex avionics and its overall a larger helicopter than H500, as such the performance impact will be inevitably higher. However, it is odd that the performance drop (that is noticeable, though not extreme) is only occurring after SU4, which should have actually improved performance on consoles.

That said, location certainly has an impact on performance as well. Seems you are near the LA Area, which is one of the heaviest and most dense areas in MSFS. (eg. note the density of traffic around 0:30 on your video - that will also take up memory and ultimately a toll on performance)

It is indeed a dense area, and there are plenty of people around. I can try the bird closer to my hometown another day, where there is certain to be almost nobody else, and the terrain is nothing but flat nothingness with a handful of trees

I’m just enjoying the LA area and all of the live people for now though. The beta was lonely, and until the last few builds, I had to basically avoid these built up areas to avoid the game becoming a PowerPoint slide show.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still enjoying this bird. Was just chasing around two other helos for the last 45 minutes.

[Edit: This is not a complaint or dig, solely just meant to be feedback. I do appreciate the response, am still happy with my purchase, and am still looking forward to mission hub on console :heart_hands:t2:]

I see @Armytoy254 is back out in the MH-60 as well. About to fly his direction.

Its not so much the other players and traffic around LA, its the terrain map and Photogrammetry round the whole of California, it’s the most detailed area in the whole sim. As @CorrelateTuba06 will confirm, I have an FPS counter and test kit for FS20/24 on xbox and I get a substantial fps drop around California with most products. My advice is turn off Photogrammetry, turn off road & sea traffic and Fauna. This will help, also use a bare minimum of add on scenery and airports if you must fly in that area.
You will get better fps in other areas.

I have just small question for devs:
Can this heli with all SAS features really withstand hovering in 35 kts wind and dont move from the place?
