No idea, tbh, if you try in ground to apply reverse thrust per engine with the mouse directly in the engine throttle of your choice you will notice it works. Same behaviour like the a320. And you will notice how the reverse lever animation raises up.
That’s what I mean, the throttle templates used in this case behaves like the a320, and the reverse thrust is set in engines.cfg. I saw a post when people started to complain reverse thrust were broken by Asobo. And people starting to post workarounds, But I don’t know if that were officially fixed
Thanks will try this!
Yes I use reverse thrust when landing or to avoid being pushed back forever because I can’t call in ATC to stop as ATC is constantly busy.
Yeah, I’m aware it works in that case, but something changed many previous SU updates ago.
This is the thread I’m referring to. Was closed but I’m not sure this were fixed. Or if requires additional mappings in settings to make it work In the air.
Has anyone found a way to get the ILS working yet? Myself nor 3 of my friends can get it to function it keeps trying to turn well past the ILS and also the ones that it appears it is trying to join it is doing so at a 5deg or so intercept meaning I need 40+ miles to intercept
Hi @OuterDrop259753 , yes we have discussed it extensively. There are literally dozens and dozens of posts and videos in the thread above that explain how to get it to work perfectly. I have done many flights in the Concorde and can reliably use ILS every time.
I usually activate ILS 20 miles from the airport. You don’t need a 5° intercept but also you can’t do a 90° intercept either. Just common sense really
The main issue with this is I exclusively fly on VATSIM and it’s rare to get more then a 15 mile final if not 10 mile. I also have 6000+ hours in real world aviation and hold a a320 type rating I can without a doubt say I know how to fly an ILS. I feel you missed my point on the angle of intercept I am normally on a 20-30 deg intercept heading and if I hit “glide/land” it turns to a 5deg or less intercept on its own while still 5+ miles off the loc.
Yeah, don’t do that. Stay in TRK HDG until the needle starts to move. Then push either VOR LOC or GLIDE.
Unless I am missing something when reviewing BAW Concord manual that is not the normal procedure?
Get into strange CTD or freezing on loading issues recently, didn’t add any addon but already twice a week I have no hope to load into start of concorde, even select a default plane and load into airport, re select concorde and load into a new airport I rarely fly, it usually CTD and need reinstall for it to work. Not a good way for ssd health, any idea on why this issue occurs
Symptom is first loading concorde and click fly on world map, it just kept black screen and with music but won’t load. After re selecting aircraft it loaded but as soon as I click into cockpit it hangs and ctd instantly
I’m just telling you what works. If you have any suggestions on how to improve things tell it to @CodenameJack447
I think the devs have been pretty clear that they did not code the autopilot, they are using MSFS autopilot. It’s not going to work exactly like Concorde did IRL so you’re going to have to fly it within the limitations and procedures that MSFS supports.
Obviously Concorde is traveling a lot faster on approach than other airliners and so a 10 mile final just might not be enough time for it to do it’s work.
Dc Designs have clearly shown ongoing support and commitment including bringing full INS simulation to Concorde when MSFS permits, so hopefully autopilot will be improved to be more realistic with that work.
We do our best, but MSFS is not real life either. The advised procedure here and in the Interactive Checklist is the best and most reliable way to successfully intercept an ILS in Concorde. I know that this might not conform to real-world procedures and on VATSIM, and Concorde has successfully intercepted ILS at 10nm and less, it just struggles a bit to line up for landing in time. If you’re at landing weights ( 25 tons and less ) Concorde should be able to do it, but I do admit that it struggles when that close to the airport as the autopilot is restricted to 20 degree-banked turns ( an MSFS AP limitation, any more and the AP cannot maintain altitude ).
Yes, it will come in a future update so you can more easily see the selected VERT SPD.
@CodenameJack447 @DEAN01973 yea i hope this come true. Also for other informations like selected Mach or IAS. I had to activate tooltips just for the Concorde.
Edit: Oh is see that will come in the future. Nice
Just want to say after doing a couple full (short) flights that the checklists are fantastic and everything (AP/AT, ILS capture and autoland) worked as expected based on reading the manual and using the checklists.
@DEAN01973 Any idea if/when will the circled indicator can be changed to CRS or CLB?
@CodenameJack447 @DEAN01973 @mdapol
A weird phenomenon happened for the A/P for me today, after a fresh install of 1.0.3.
Today I go WMKK to VHHX, I set everything as usual, world map flight plan, take off and engage INS, but somehow during both take off and landing, when the desired flight path is too tight a turn for the concorde (e.g.during take off and need to turn ~180 degrees to the course, or at the steep turn for ILS 13 VHHX around south lantau island, the AP will go all in steep banking as to flip over and rush into the ground, only disengaging the AP and manually flip it back (ok, the flip rate looks too quick and unreal IMO which in real life it will likely shatters and break into pieces), the attached video below is the descend and approach phase of the flight, the weird event is ~12:30, can anyone advise is something wrong in it? it only occurs at take off and approach phase and behaves very normal during climb and cruise
Thanks for the reply man! Sorry if I sounded a bit abrasive before I didn’t mean to come off that way at all, rough day at work yesterday lol.
