There is new plane in Marketplace for MSFS2020.
Here is first look:
Awesome! I will buy this once it’s in FS2024.
Ah, a classic that got a lot of use in the older sims. I picked this up and tried it for a few mins last night.
I really hope they update it to include cockpit click sounds for the various switches and knobs. I vaguely recall versions for older sims having this, and the completely silent cockpit when manipulating the controls now is a bit unnerving.
Also hope to see incorporation of some GPS options in the future as I believe one of the older FSX-era version had.
Otherwise it seems to be a pretty straight port from their FSX/P3D era. Solid, but hoping for more refinement. I may try to see if I can reach out to the dev and ask for updates.
Got this yesterday and I have to say it’s awful. No cockpit switch sounds, textures are really low res.
Unless I’m missing something I don’t understand why people are rating it 5/5.
I remember this bad boy! They originally released that one for X-Plane 11 way back in the day. Flew that extensively at the time; great fun to spin. I’ll have to look into this one.
I posted on the LHSimulations discord (link available via the LHSims contact page, then the product support channel in discord) praising release and hoping for cockpit click sounds.
LHSims indicated to another user a limited developer skillset with the current sim, as well as the significant expenditure needed to bring in additional sound engineers and programmers, so updates from my understanding depend on sales. Here’s hoping we’ll see forthcoming improvements.
Hi,
could anyone please report if there were any further updates to the 142? If the cab switches now have sound etc.?
No updates
The model has an oversteering nose gear that reacts very abruptly and doesn’t behave naturally. This is a bug that needs to be fixed. I hope it will be addressed in a patch.
I bought this LH Simulation Zlin Z-142 for MSFS 2024 and it is, without doubt, the lowest quality, most incomplete product I’ve ever bought for MSFS.
There are NO sounds, other than the awful, rough engine sounds, that sound like they were recorded at 11Khz. How on Earth can they release an addon with no sounds? It’s not just switches, there are no touchdown sounds, no wind.
And the rest of the aircraft is just as rough. Awful FSX-style textures, holes in the external model.
It’s disgusting that LH Simulations (I own all their scenery and it’s good) can sell something in this state.
Buyer beware!
None. It’s a really awful, low quality, sub-freeware product.
There are NO sounds other than the horrible, lo-fi engine sounds.
Worth noting there is a native FS2024 version of this available now on the Marketplace. I cannot speak to its quality and, based on the review above, will wait to see if they’ve improved since the 2020 build (which I suspect the user was using because from what I can tell, this is the first FS2024 version of the addon, released today.)
I’ve just downloaded this aircraft, unaware of previous comments. I’m actually pretty happy with it. The over-sensitivity in yaw is still there, especially on the ground, but I think the textures are fine, certainly better than some other payware stuff I’ve bought and the sounds are really good. There are definitely click sounds with the switches and the only minor gripe I have with them is there’s no change in volume when you open and close the canopy. There are some nice, if not especially amazing, features on the kneeboard and a really good selection of liveries. I’m more than happy with it. If I had feedback for the developers it would be fix the yaw sensitivity, and it would be nice to have a little more systems depth, like working breakers (starter works whether the breaker switch is on or off) or a modelled blower. Based on my short flight I’d say most of the issues with the earlier release seem to have been addressed.
I grabbed it; it’s currently on sale in the Marketplace for under $11 US. FS2024 version.
Sounds work fine, no issues. Sounds are similar to what I saw in YT cockpit videos, given the vagaries of recording those.
Once I tuned the rudder sensitivity down a bit, the handling felt good to me, though I obviously haven’t flown the real thing. Certainly a fun aerobatic plane. Spinning it felt right. Was fun when I looked up and saw the maneuver entry guidelines.
Yeah, there are planes with much better textures. But for $11, I’m gonna get my enjoyment out of this.
Also, as a fan of the RCAF and Canadian-based planes in general, love this recreation of a Zlin that’s based in British Columbia IRL.
