I was wondering what one of my favourite airport creators are cooking… A good choice of an airport and a day one purchase for me! Thanks.

Same here. I have their KTPA. Going to pick this up!

It’s such a shame they shelved KPBI; I have their last two airports (KPVU and KONT) and they’re excellent. To be fair, BMW/Amsim do a decent job these days but I think Verticalsim’s would have been better. Hopefully they revisit it following completion of the terminal extension.

Back on topic… it’s reasonably-priced on both their own site and Contrail, so I’ll likely get it later.

Well, I bought it… and it’s fantastic! These guys really have come a long way with their last couple of sceneries — the one thing I never liked is how they (like so many others, including greats like FlyTampa and Flightbeam) always retained a lot of the default satellite imagery but both this and Provo feature properly custom-modelled terminal landsides. For me this makes a big difference and Verticalsim are certainly on my ‘top 5’ list of developers now.

They’ve included some nice eye-candy at the RWY36 end, and while other devs might have rendered such peripheral detail in lower res, here it’s the same quality as everything else.

The marketing blurb modestly mentions a ‘simple terminal interior’ but I’ve seen some developers refer to this level of detail as ‘intricate’. The interiors of Signature and Sheltair have also been modelled.

Excellent job! I really hope they choose to continue work on KPBI at some point. There exist airports I wouldn’t buy unless they were done by a specific dev — I didn’t buy BMW/Amsim’s KPBI but I would have bought a Verticalsim version. I understand devs have to make money but I think shelving products just because someone else is on the case is a little short-sighted — especially when you know your product is going to be superior.

Big fan of all of Verticalsim’s airports-so got KPIE today and must say the simple terminal interior is fantastic and performance-wise, just the way I prefer interior modelling-simple but not FPS taxing.

I would be interested in KPIE but only if this dev ever fixes KGSP and KSRQ jetways that appear upside down when connecting to aircraft. There were supposed to be updates to these, and nothing so far. Disappointing when devs refuse to fix broken sceneries from day 1 but go on to make other sceneries that cost just as much. Can we get a fix for older sceneries we paid just as much for that have never worked properly? Then I might jump on KPIE..

KGSP isn’t even offered for sale on their website any more, and KSRQ is three years old (so from a time when Verticalsim wasn’t a particularly great dev). Probably not an excuse for not updating old airports but their work from 2020/21 is in no way comparable to what they’re putting out now. KPIE got an update already so their stuff certainly isn’t abandonware. Perhaps one day they’ll get around to updating their older scenery?

KPIE is excellent.
