Is this likely to appear on other stores like Orbx or Just Flight eventually ?
When will it release on the xbox market?
Got her too! Many thanks for making her available outside of the MSFS money making machine, much appreciated.
You guys are such a cool bunch, when I just saw the video I had a great time, laughing I almost lost my cafe…
In addition, the super sound Track from the 80th, quite great cinema…
I am really deeply impressed…
The WILGA first impression :
9.5/10
This is beyond what I expected! The attention to the details is simply on par with the best airplane for MSFS. I feel that this plane is the best for bush flying so far.
I was nonstop smiling at every little details, like when I discovered that I could swap the GPS from the copilot position to the pilot position. The Gotfriends Wilga feel more complex and complete than most if not all bush planes out there. The flight model seem just right, although with time, real pilot will comment on this.
The plane can hand fly smoothly and react well to trim. The autopilot seem a bit rigid when activated, but it’s probably a limitation with MSFS. Where it feel less realistic, similarly to other comments, is that on the ground the Wilga roll to flat and doesn’t reproduce bumbs on more rough terrain. Even with good suspension, I would thing that we could have more life in taxiing.
All click spots are easy to work with. The cockpit definitively feel way more spacious than an Xcub. I cannot comment on the textures, as my first flight was during the night. I didn’t use the camping equipment, but this is a very neat feature and more in depth than I ever saw on a 3rd party plane. For me, it even surpass the P42 Kitfox (which is a very good product).
The view is a bit more crowded, but this is true to the real plane, which have beam structure near the windshield. The side view offer more and altogether, we easily adjust and have good visibility. Having a working wiper is interesting. The sound is rich and have a lot of details in the higher frequency coming from the propeller. The engine growl and sound full. There even an option to put headphone to attenuate the ‘’beast”.
I fly in VR with the modern 80x variant and I can confirm that it work very well and is light on the PC. I didn’t notice any main issue except some clic jittering on the clipboard option box, it seem the cursor is fighting to find the good ‘’z layer’’. I don’t know how to describe it better. For people that fly with ASW (reprojection) we will absolutely need a VR Friendly Prop patch as it make a lot of things inside and outside from the cockpit view very wobbly. Parallel 42 Kitfox is providing this option in the box, so that feature could be very helpful for VR user that fly with reprojection.
I honestly could continue on and on about this plane. Thank you got friend for this wonderful little beast. It show that you care for your customers and that you listen to them. This is the version 1.0 and it show that you took the time to make it right before release (and tested it properly in VR).
THE GOOD :
-Wonderful bush plane that is beyond everything we had in the sim so far.
-Detailed manual & in game check list (I still need to read it Lol, was to excited to go fly)
-Most system modeled and feel deep and could potentially become a study level if the dev wanted.
-Flight model seem right.
-Fly great and feel both light and stable but have a lot of authority and responsiveness when needed.
-Sound quality is superior.
-Come with multiple variant in Polish and English.
-Nice touch everywhere, the cockpit lighting give and exceptional ambiance at night.
-Having the option to have a realistic engine system is welcome. (of course I turned it on!).
-All kind of ‘’going beyond the basic ‘’ that make the product feel a higher quality 3rd party plane.
-Seriously more and more…
THE LESS GOOD (because nothing is really bad) :
-Ground handling is a lackluster, more realism when taxiing is crucial especially for this kind of plane.
-Having an option to have persistent save state on the clipboard would be the cherry on the top.
-Failures would make it cross the ‘’study level’’.
-Could we have an amphibious option, floats with wheels (only if true to life)?
-Can we have access to the circuit breaker?
FOR VR SIMMERS :
+Very good performance and readability in the cockpit.
+Option to move the GPS in the pilot position is what I needed!
-For reprojection user, a Friendly VR Prop mod is needed.
-Some finicky click spot on the clipboard.
Again, thank you everyone at Gotfriends, you really nailed this one!!!
Sorry for my Frenchglish.
MY SYSTEM :
9900k CPU
3080ti GPU
32RAM
TUF Z390-PLUS GAMING WiFi MOBO
NVMe Drive
Quest 2 on Air link
Please everyone, go visit my old post on the MSFS about proper saving function. Now with more and more bush planes, Asobo could really make the save & load function complete.

Here is the Flightsim.to page for the Friendly VR Prop Mod (still not the for the Virga of course):

I’m not sure that joking about a website hack on the day you want people to trust you with their payment and email information is the way to go to improve sales. ![]()
Totally agree @TristeCiel
Now only hope for some German Reg. like D-ELVS or Custom Reg. variant
Took G-BUNC up for a spin around Forwood. Spawned inside the hangar but the doors opened then closed on me before I could get out, but thanks to superior Polish technology I was able to phase my way through the doors.
Then we went for a quick flight around the local countryside.
Almost a perfect 3 point landing next to the beehives. As you can see by the smoke in the earlier screenshot there was quite a crosswind but the Wilga handled it fine.
There was a doppelganger waiting for me outside the hangar. As I was shutting down they flew off for their own adventure.
I absolutely love it. Flies great, looks and sounds great and packed full of features. Great job Got Friends! And also thanks a lot for making this available outside the Marketplace. Now I’m off to explore the other variants.
Thanks for the impressions!!
I thought it had some switches above your head to enable Engine failures (at least, maybe more. I’ve seen that in a preview video some time ago)?
Bought it instantly. As a Pole I am really touched by all the effort you put in details - all those “ąęśćżźń” in labels like “Włącz”, “Przeł.”, “Ciągnąć” make me feel right at home ![]()
Also I didn’t expect it all to be so readable in VR, also runs exceptionally smooth in VR!
Thank you, now bacck to flying as there are still many more details to discover!
There’s an ‘engine realism’ option on the clipboard. According to the manual it enables; engine stress, carb icing, cylinder heat warping, engine start-up realism and also modifies the fuel selector for the 80 series variants so there’s no ‘both’ fuel tank selection, you have to juggle between left and right.
What a great little bird … well, it’s not that little. It’s a surprisingly large aircraft!
I love the realism and all the little touches. It flies great and landings are tougher than expected. It’s hard to touch down with the main wheels first at slow speeds, I either touch down with the tail wheel first or plonk down hard.
I haven’t even begun to explore everything she has to offer, but can’t wait to do so. And the included airfield scenery is great!
A couple of observations:
-
oil temps are hard to control, even with the oil shutters fully open. It keeps in the yellow band, even at moderate engine/prop settings, and goes beyond the redline quickly after a couple of landing attempts. And the engine dies fast when it does, as my forced landing can attest to. That’s fine if accurate. Just something I noticed.Disregard … I mixed up the oil and cylinder head temperature gauges in the polish version. Of course opening the oil cooler fully doesn’t bring down the cylinder head temperature!

-
the gyro sound seems excessively loud. Is it really louder than the engine noise in the real thing? It’s a bit annoying with its high pitched almost “chaffing” sound. But if that’s accurate… well, see above!
-
there is no such thing as a “2th” or “3th” notch of flaps. It should be “2nd” or “3rd”.
-
was the guitar you recorded tuned? It sounds strangely off key (I can’t believe we are talking about guitar strumming sounds in an aircraft addon, but here we are!).
Yes, I’m aware that the attitude indicator was still caged at that point.
Ah they must have moved it. Unless one of the variants is different but the video I saw had some toggle switches on the roof above pilot.
Must say is looking very interesting.
Oh my God! The paddle function is so fantastic… I need this in all float planes!
I’d even pay for it! No really … this feature makes the Wilga the first fully usable float plane! ![]()
Not only can you finally dock and depart properly, it also holds the Wilga in place when not paddling. I missed something like that ever since leaving the A2A Cub behind.
