[RELEASED] Wilga 35/80 Series | Got Friends

Raising/lowering flaps on flare/touchdown depends a lot on the cockpit.

If the flap is controlled by a humongous lever hanging from the roof that is quite different to a small switch immediately next to the gear lever with the potential to raise the gear by mistake

Had a bash at this. No issues here tbh. Tried a crosswind landing on “not a runway” (hard to see how flat it was until I landed, but it was more bumpy than I expected!) and then on flat ground into headwind, then with a tailwind. Only like 10kt wind though

There is some weird-as scenery here lol

If you want me to try same place you did, let me know how I can get there

I did some landings and retracted the flaps immediately as well as pulled the stick: no issues anymore.

Pulling the stick helps more than retracting the flaps.

Awesome! Now try landing here

I know this nice little airfield, I already flew to in P3D.

Yeah it’s super nicely done! It’s not a particularly hard one length-wise but you need to keep well straight.

You want a hard one??

While I’m posting videos
here I am testing a race for a Wilga event I am hosting tonight.

If anyone wants to join, you can find the info in the Calendar here

Now that’s awsome!

I will try 42ST and PZ28, didn’t know them .

42ST is payware, but man it’s so good. If you don’t have it yet, definitely get it.
Nearby is 42HB and 42MG. Makes a nice little trio of bush landings all close to each other.

42HB is my American “home” now

Finally (almost) finished my Wilga cockpit. It can be set up and taken down from the desk within a minute or two.

I have found a way to key map everything using LVARs except the Wipers. Does anyone know if it is possible to map the wipers to an external key?

That is Awesome!! But you need a flap lever above your head somehow mate!

I don’t know about LVAR’s, sorry

Thanks! Im actually thinking about building another flaps lever that is easier to pump up and down. Dont know how to put it above my head though.

If I had that, I would never take it down,
unless I needed to change it out for a Boeing cockpit :grinning:

Solved

EDIT: More seriously - perhaps a desk clamped monitor mount “arm” that can angle up and reach high up would work and be strong enough?

Well, Im not sure my wife would approve of the hair dryer solution. Something about aesthetics.

Maybe some kind of handbrake-ish flap lever could work.

Other option would be to move your whole desk up towards the ceiling and get in with a ladder  The Wilga is pretty massive so that would add to the experience

Your wife would be happy with more floor space too

 Yeah that would propably work well.

Go into dev mode, behaviour. Find the toggle and see what commands/vars are associated with it.

BUS_INDEX: 1
CIRCUIT_INDEX: 6

Controls the Wipers

Thank you, but Im not sure what this means. My build is based on Arduinos using the SPAD.neXt serial interface. From there I can access SIMCONNECT, LVAR etc. Is it possible to access those BUS_INDEX and CIRCUIT_INDEX in a similiar way?
